Chapter 94 - A Second Rescue Mission

960 Words

Third POV Xavier used all his strength to throw large stones against the wooden door of the fireman’s house. The door was already weak from the fire, so it broke down after the third hit. Immediately, he signaled his cousin to go in with him. The fire was too intense. The entire entrance was engulfed in flames, and there was no way through it. Maxwell pulled off his shirt, wrapped it around himself, and made to go in, but his cousin was quick to stop him. "You know you’re not going to survive that. Try to think before acting—even if it’s just this once. You’ll both die in there. Why don’t we break that side window and go through it instead? I didn’t realize this entrance was so badly burnt. I wouldn’t have bothered breaking it,” Xavier said, picking up a stone and heading to the window.
