Final Stones

"Evie, where are you going in such a rush?" Hadrian asked. "You said you are watching the children today!"          "I found the final stones and I am going to get them. It will only take ten minutes. They have been right under my nose this while time, I just can't believe I haven't noticed! Miranda and Jenna has had them this whole time and new. They are so high on my list to kill right, it's not even funny." Understanding filled Hadrian's eyes.      "I will tell Cooper that we will be spending family time with you this evening. You will have all the stones by the end of the day. He will understand. We are one more step closer to the end of this war. I just know we aren't close to it yet. It's irritating, ya know? I want to leave this place. I hate castles."     "I know, Hadrian. I want to talk to you and Cooper tonight about something. It's about when this war is over. I've been thinking about it for a while. For now I have to go and try to not commit murder. I am going to send Jonah to you. Perhaps I should make him hear what I am going to say also. Yes, he must be there too. He is part of the team and they must know that we have to work together from this point on. Their training is going to have to go a step further after today. I will let Tarrant know. Alexis and David will be informed by him no doubt. I will hopefully see you this evening. I feel bad because I haven't had much time with you guys."     "Everything will be fine in the end. No worries. Besides, I think last night made up for it." He waggled his eyebrows and took off before I could make a reaction to that.      "Oh, he is lucky he ran off. Now, off to try and not kill anyone!" I declared to myself.     "Is it going to be a routine with you storming into my throne room?" Miranda snarled. I noticed Jenna glower at me and take a protective stance.     "Probably." I replied. I held my hands out and the stones came flying to me. Jenna scowled at me.     "How dare you! We earned those when we attacked the enemies camp a few days ago." Jared snarled. Tarrant walked into the room and paused when he noticed everyone glaring at me. He raised a brow at me.     "They had the last stones. A ruby and a diamond. They never even knew. Of course, that would be because they haven't activated yet and they weren't the right people." I explained.     "How did you find this out?" He asked.     "Let's just say a little gem told me." I answered. I kept myself from laughing as I saw Sapphire snickering off to the side. Tarrant however, caught my amusement. I told him about how I see Sapphire from time to time. I was able to get him to see her for a short time due to my stone.     "Let me guess, little Sapphire?" He asked.     "Not so little anymore." I grumbled. "Anyways, I will explain that one to you here in a bit. I need a table." I said. Tarrant ordered two guards to set a table in front of me.     As I set the stones on the table, they all began to glow. The ruby and diamond activated as I set them down. "The diamond is an air elemental and the ruby controls fire." Sapphire said. I hummed, acknowledging what she said.         "Just a random question, is it possible to bring someone back from the dead?" I asked Tarrant. Sorrow flickered in his eyes, most likely thinking back to David. I looked at Sapphire and she only shrugged, but she held a look of knowing in her eyes.     "Of course it is possible." Jared snapped. "Why do you want to know anyways. Only one person can bring someone back from the dead and no one has the guts to call upon her." I shared a look with Tarrant.     "I don't think his daughter would want us to. He died an honorable death." Tarrant said. Everyone just looked confused now.     "Well, yeah, but I was also thinking about someone else, ya know?" I asked.     "Do you think that can be done? It's been about elven, twelve years? I mean, does she want that?" He asked. I looked at Sapphire, who is bouncing on her heels in joy. I smiled at Tarrant. "I will take that as a yes. I mean, Lilly will be happy. You are going to have to talk to Hadrian and Cooper about that. They know about her too. They did catch you laughing and Lilly talking to an invisible force. She is a prankster too."     "I mean, now wouldn't be a good time, but in the future. Perhaps when the war is over? Lady Magic perhaps?" I inquired. Sapphire giggled before skipping out of the room, followed by a crashing sound and a scream from one of the castle guards.     "What the hell?" Adrian muttered. "It sounded like someone tried to kill him." Tarrant snickered. "Anyways, who are you talking about?"     "Might as well tell them. You've kept it a secret this long." Tarrant said.     "Later, when I know I can trust them again." I muttered. "Anyways, these are the seven stones, eight if you want to count the onyx that fused with the sapphire." Tarrant laughed. "Hush. I won the stone in a fair fight."     "Fair? You tricked the lady and then killed her in cold blood. Just like when your magic burned those men alive." Tarrant said.     "You make it sound like I enjoy killing." I said in mock offense.     "You got to admit, when you go into battle, you get a little crazy." Tarrant said.     "Fine, I do. Anyways, back to the topic on hand. The stones. We now have all of them. Each stone will choose it's owner. Now, trainees, stand around this table so your stone may choose you." I ordered. The first one to get a stone is Erick. The jade. The pearl went Adrian. The emerald went to Jonah. Joseph got marble. Jenna got the ruby and Neil got the diamond. "Excellent, we will begin your training with the stone in a few days. On to other topics. Everything has been tensed since I've returned. I don't know what I have done to wrong you, but you hold a grudge against me. This must change. You are to become warriors. In order for that to happen, you must trust me. It is true that I am no longer the same person. I've seen death, hell I should be dead, but I am not."     "Why should we trust you when you don't trust us?" Jenna snapped.     "First of all, it is that attitude that is making me not like nor respect you. Jonah here is the only one that has gained my respect and forgiveness. Besides Tarrant, Jonah is my second in command. Tarrant commands the ships, while Jonah commands the land. That is why he gets extra training with Tarrant. He needs to know what his duty is."     "Fine. We'll start listening to you. Who was it that you were talking about earlier?" Erick asked.     "I'm surprised you held back on that one. Who we were talking about was my oldest daughter, who died when she was ten minutes old. End of discussion. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to talk to my husbands about something of great importance. Tarrant, I will inform you of said discussion when we have come to an agreement. It is about the future and after the war."     "Of course. I will speak with you later." Tarrant said. I smiled and left the room in search of my husbands.
