Chapter 1 He found the house to be eerily quiet as he stepped in. Moments before he was being plunged into a state of reverie, a happy cry rang out. "Daddy!" A young girl shouted as she ran into his already open arms "How has daddy's angel been?" he asked as he pat her head "I have been good. Did you get my strawberry flan? " She asked " Yes, my angel" " Karma, be a good girl and let daddy go freshen up and rest" Mrs Cecilia, her mother, said as she joined them " Okay mom" Karma said and ran upstairs "Welcome Honey" Mrs Cecilia said and hugged him. She collected his briefcase and together, they went upstairs "How was work?" Mrs. Cecilia "It was hectic" Mr. Wilson replied as they entered their room " I met with the American Ambassadors and i believe their presence here with help with my appointment as they are here on my behalf" Mr. Wilson stated " Do not worry. I will call my father and make sure he pulls some strings for you" she said " I won't have gotten to this point without your contributions. Thank you so much my love" He said and pulled her closer, with his hands on her waist, " I missed you at work" he said leaning in to kiss her "I missed you too. But right now, i need to go and set the table for dinner. So, why don't you freshen up and come downstairs" " Okay ma'am. I'll be done in 5 minutes" he said and she pecked him and left Seconds later, two messages popped up on Mr. Wilson's phone "I just sent it to your house. You have to be very careful this time around" the first message read and this earned a frown from him " IT IS DONE" the second message Mr. Wilson smiled satisfactorily and walked into the bathroom "But mom, I said I was craving Spagetti Bolognese" Karma whined " Your father, my husband, wanted to eat this so I made it" her mom said " I actually wouldn't mind eating Spagetti Bolognese as long as that's what she wants" her dad said, getting downstairs " You indulge her too much and it's not going to get her anywhere" her mom protested "She's my only child" her dad defended " Speaking of which, mom, dad, my birthday is in two months. I want a party because I'll be turning 18" Karma said " Young lady, two months is not too soon. I think what we should be talking about is your examination that is coming up in three weeks" her mom said "I'm in my personal revision week already. Mommy don't worry I'll make you proud as always" " I know you will" her mom said patting her " What do you want to be in future?" her dad asked " A lawyer. But I will focus more on criminal law" " No, you won't. My only child's not studying criminal law" her dad said and started eating " Daddy" " But, honey you....." "Are you trying to disrespect me?" her dad asked irritatingly " Of course not. Let's dig in" her mom said while they all started eating.
