The jungle is dense behind the house, growing up around it like it’s just biding its time before it takes over completely. We’re standing in what must have been a sort of courtyard, and across from the house in the other direction is the smaller cabin. Jack would have loved this place. He had been thinking about moving to a place like this since he was a little boy. Emily decided to call him later and tell him every detail. He’ll start researching this area of Alaska, trying to discover where he could find a place to move to. She thought that maybe they could start saving up so someday they could move there. That is if Jack would even take her call tonight. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, but all she could see is the look on his face as I told him she was leaving.
