The first time she had heard a strange voice was on her first night after moving into her Montana home, it would be the beginning of her new life. Emily rolled out of the big bed. Her every step resulted in creaks and groans, as though her small-person feet had shaken the house to its foundation. She tiptoed across the room and opened the door the tiniest c***k. She breathed a sigh of relief because the voice is one she recognized. It wasn’t a spirit or a demon; it’s just the sound of Eon’s deep baritone. What had her life been reduced to that hearing her alieny empowered, long-lost birth father’s voice had become the most normal explanation available to her?
