After the exorcism, the air had felt lighter "It seems the demon has left, do you smell that fresh air," Father Mike smiled. "Jack you may call Emily and let her know that she has her home back,"
Jack reached into his pocket and pulled his phone out then dialed his wife's number. "Hey you can come back now, you wouldn't believe how the house feels and smells now,"
"I'm on my way,"
It didn't take her long to get to the house from the look of it she looked very disheveled as if she had run all the whole three blocks from the hotel. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you," Emily squealed as she hugged everybody. "You saved my home, how can I ever repay you,"
"No need to repay us you know we do this to help people," Cady beamed. "Well I could think of something that you could repay us with," Steve laughed. "Some of Jack's ribs. Jack laughed done "Come by tomorrow I'll throw some on the smoker, along with the sides,"
"Deal," Steve chuckled.
The rest of the day was peaceful. Emily and Jack spent the evening cleaning their beloved house back up.
When the sunlight made its way through the bedroom window Emily knew that she could finally relax and enjoy her life again without fear of possession or death. That evening Cady and Steve showed up for the cookout. That's when we noticed little things start happening around the house again. "It might just be just some residual energy left from the ghost and the demon, they were both strong," Steve explained. "Just sprinkle some more holy water around it will eventually stop,"
"Okay, well let's eat then and not worry about the little things," Emily said. "I'm tired of talking about ghosts and demons,"
"I know we will stop," Jack comforted. "Yeah I'm sorry Emily I should have known that the subject would be touchy for you," Steve apologized. "It's okay let's just have some fun," Emily accepted. The rest of the evening was fun they ate, and played some games.
It remained peaceful in the house for a couple of days even though every once in a while we would notice small things happening every now and then until one night we heard the old familiar laugh of the demon that we thought had been removed. The light airy feeling in the house started to turn into a heavy repressive feeling once again. "Jack wake up do you smell that," Emily whispered shaking Jack awake. "What? What's wrong," He grumbled. "That smell? Do you smell that? It smells like rotting meat," She coughed. "Ugh, where is that coming from," Jack asked covering his nose and mouth with his hand. "I don't know," She mumbled trying not to take a breath. "Maybe something died under the house, I'll check in the morning," Jack said as he snuggled back into the blankets. Emily, unfortunately, couldn't get back to sleep. She gets up and walks into the kitchen to get a drink only to see a tall dark black figure standing in the doorway then it disappears before her eyes. "J-Jack," She screamed. "Jack! Jack," A groggy Jack came into the kitchen. "What is it now," He growled. "Jack I saw a dark creepy black figure standing where you are right now then I blinked and it just disappeared," She shuddered. "Emily I think you are just stress-. Before I can get the rest of the word out it starts. The screaming came through the house. Emily and Jack ran out of the house jumped into the car and headed to the hotel. "We need to call Cady and Steve and let them know what is going on," Emily cried. "Hunny I think they have done all they can do and we just need to move," Jack admitted sympathetically. "But I don't want to move we've already discussed this remember," She fumed. "I'm not leaving my home," We go back home the next morning and notice that it was freezing inside along with every light on. "What on earth, did we leave all the lights on," Emily asked flicking off the lights throughout the house. "No not that I'm aware of. The only light that you had on was the kitchen light and I'm pretty sure I turned it off when we left,"
"So how did they all get turned on, plus it's freezing in here,"
"Somehow the thermostat got turned to fifty degrees," Jack said as he turned it back up to seventy-five. "Seriously Jack we need to call Cady and Steve they might not be able to help get rid of whatever is in here but they can at least help us figure if the demon is back,"
He grabbed his phone off the table beside the bed "Steve can you and Cady meet us at our house in an hour,"
"Sure is everything okay," Steve asked. "Yes, I think so we just need to ask you two something," Jack replied. When they arrived at the house Emily and Jack were waiting for them on the porch. "Thank you for coming," Emily said. "No problem Steve said you two wanted to ask us something," Cady questioned. "It's not exactly a question it's more of we needed to show you something," Emily admitted. "Please follow us inside," They followed Jack and Emily into their house as Jack relayed what had happened the night before up to when they came back home that morning. Just as Steve said "It does sound like you still have a demon," he found himself being dragged down the hallway by an unseen force straight into a wall. "Yep you definitely do have a demon it's either the same one or you have a new one," He claimed as he rubbed the back of his head. "How is this possible I thought you got rid of the demon," Emily commanded. "It might have hidden if it is the same one, other than that it's possible that you or Jack is somehow magical and bringing them to you," Cady continued. " We need to do another investigation but first we need to get ahold of Father Mike to help us out again,"
