The Alpha King's Obsession

Chapter 2

"Ahh!"

Eloise opened her eyes almost immediately, she looked around trying to find where the scream was coming from. But one thing was certain, the scream was getting louder and louder.

She held on to her belongings, stood up in a jiffy and hid behind the tree. She could hear the loud beating of her heartbeat against her ribcage. What she wanted was to leave this forest unharmed and alive but it seems that might not be happening.

The scream got louder and closer and soon enough a woman appeared out of the bushes, running. Eloise had no idea who was chasing her but with the fear in her eyes, she knew the woman was in trouble. Unfortunately for her, she lost her footing and fell to the ground. She tried to stand up but she couldn't, it was like something or a force was pulling her down.

"Tsk...do you really think you can run away from me?" A cold voice inquired and soon enough a silver haired man appeared. What caught Eloise's attention was his red eyes...

'A vampire!' Eloise mused, taking a step back in fear.

"You won't be able to kill me, you can't kill me Kai! " the woman snarled, glaring at the man in front of her. She needed to find a way to escape, she had to run or else...she might die.

Kai's lips curled up into a sly smile. He let out a light chuckle, squatting in front of his prey. He stretched out his hand, caressing her small face. He had a smile on his face but behind that smile, Eloise could see a cold hearted and dangerous man. The aura exuding from his body was enough to make anyone tremble in fear even if she at that moment was no less than his prey.

"If I die, you won't get what you want. You won't be able..."

"You should have thought about that, Zara but now..." He paused for a while, playing with her long black hair. "We will have to meet in hell" and then...he pulled off her head.

Eloise covered her mouth with her hand to stop herself from screaming. Her eyes welled up with tears, staring at the man as he held the woman's head in his hand and then he crushed it to the ground. She couldn't control her tears and soon enough she was mourning for her. Unconsciously, she bit her hand trying to hide her cry for being heard by the silver haired man.

"Tsk..I had to get my hands dirty," he tore off Zara's dress, using it to wipe his hands clean.

Kai stood up and walked away with a smirk on his face. Eloise stood still, watching him leave but she was still lost to think about anything at that moment. She couldn't believe her eyes, she had indeed heard about how brutal the creatures of the night were, that was why she was scared when her uncle told her to go to the palace. Why? Their king was a werewolf, an alpha.

She was around five when she saw one of the creatures of the night for the first time. The one she saw then was a witch, a witch that tried to kill her and still now she had no idea who or what saved her.She was so lost in her thought that she failed to notice a Shadow lurking behind her.

"Lost?" A cold voice sounded behind her, sending goosebumps down her spine. That voice sounded so familiar to her ears but where...

'The vampire!'

"I asked you a question, Kitten," Kai whispered in her ears, closing the distance between them. He had caught her scent before killing Zara, he was just waiting for the right time to meet this intruder.

"I...I..."she stuttered, not able to think of the right words to say. There were so many questions on her mind that moment, what if he killed her just like he did to that poor woman, would she really have a horrible death?

"Scared?" asked Kai even though he could hear the loud beating of her heart. ' This little kitten was scared of him, how interesting?!'

"I'm..."

Kai held her waist and whirled her around and pushed her to a tree.

"Ahh!" She winced in pain. Right at that moment, she couldn't help but believe that she was really cursed. She only asked to leave this forest alive and unharmed but now she would be killed. Why was she so unlucky, why was life always this unfair to her?!

Kai smirked when he noticed the tears in her eyes, she was fragile and vulnerable. Just a snap of his fingers and she would be six feet under but...

"Please, don't kill me! I'm sorry!" She cried, begging for her poor life. Even though she was all alone and no one really cared about her, she still wanted to live. She dreamed of wearing a wedding gown and getting married to the man she loved. She dreamed of having a simple life with her husband and children but none of that would happen if she died.

Kai's lips curled up into a sly smile seeing how scared she was, she was even begging him to spare her dear, precious life. Was he really that scary?

"I'm thirsty" said Kai, staring keenly at the girl that had failed to look into his eyes. Something she would do before he let her be.

"I don't have water but...I can get you one if you want" Eloise responded immediately. She was ready to do anything for him, as long as he wouldn't kill her. She just wants to get to the palace and live a peaceful life there.

Kai let out a light chuckle, she thought he was thirsty for water. She must have been cared for and protected for her entire life for her to have a little idea about a vampire.

Eloise furrowed her brows, confused with his laughter. She had no idea why he laughed or could it be that she made a mistake?

"I'm thirsty for your blood kitten, your sweet blood"
