The Blood of the Chosen

I felt like I was floating in a warm blanket of darkness. No pain, no anxiety, no stress, just bliss. I knew in my heart that I am dead. I was trying to remember what happened to me that brought me to this moment. Unfortunately, my mind drew a blank about the event leading to my death. I did remember I had a mother, father and 2 brothers that I loved very much and I knew they would miss me dearly. All of the sudden I felt the warm blanket fade away and I felt painful throughout my body and there was a brightness that was hurting my eyes. There was a constant beeping sound along with the bright light. My eyes felt heavy but I was able to open them slowly. Everything was fuzzy but as soon it cleared I saw a hand laying on my hand. I turned to my right and saw my father, and he was crying in happiness. "Beautiful, you are awake! I will call the nurse." He leaned over and pressed the button to call the nurse. While we waited for the nurse to come in my father and I stayed in peaceful silence. I was contemplating everything I remembered and trying to remember what happened before ending up at the hospital. The nurse came in and looked at me with curiosity. She said "I am glad you are awake, how are you feeling?" I looked at her and asked what happened? her response would change my life forever. "Miss Isabella you died for 2 minutes and had to resuscitate you due to poisoning."
