Lucy decided to open the door and she was out just like that, with no care in the world. Though she did struggle to find a flashlight on her phone since she never used one, fortunately, she did, since the dim light that was coming from the house near her was not enough for her to see in the dark.
Soon after that, she started walking. She heard the cars still driving and saw a few of them driving away, a black cat who didn't want to stop meowing, until she heard her owner, who was a middle-aged woman, calling for her to go inside and that did kind of scare her since her voice was all deep and rusty, but who was she to judge?
As she walked further away from her neighborhood, the more did she feel like something was off, she felt like she was trembling from the cold, even though it was not that chill outside, to begin with.
"That's what I get for trusting the first look from the outside.." She muttered to herself as she glanced at the woods in front of her. It was huge, but Lucy could sense some bad energy coming from it, but she could not explain what it was. It just felt off.
It was just for a second, but some kind of a shadow appeared in front of her and soon after that it just flew straight into the woods, making her slightly scared, since it was a forest and maybe some kind of animals were lurking in the darkness trying to eat her alive or something.
For a mere moment, she remembered that there were a few children who had escaped the orphanage and they had been reported missing. Maybe they had been eaten alive by some kind of animal, and the town's police were not bothered to search any further, since they didn't have anyone who would care for them in the first place? Lucy didn't know and she didn't want to know.
Why am I even thinking about these things?
She sighed as she decided to walk straight to the house.
______
It was past ten in the evening and Victor was walking from another hang-out with his friends. It was hard to fake that he was okay with always going home at night and hanging out with his friends who sometimes pressured him to do things that he didn't like and one of them was smoking, though he didn't do it, he lied and said that he had asthma and it would probably be weird, but his friends did believe him.
Gosh, sometimes I wonder
if I even like all of the things
that I am doing...
He thought to himself as he walked down the road through the forest, holding onto his phone while having a flashlight turned on. "I hate this already..." He murmured as he stopped walking since his feet were hurting him.
"Mum could have easily just let me sleep over at Bruce's house, but no-" He rolled his eyes, and soon after that he heard some kind of noise coming from the bushes.
Not again...
He sighed as he pointed the flashlight on his phone into the bushes.
Nothing...
Victor sighed once again as he decided to just start walking to his house. He was partly to blame, after all, he was nagging Sally to let him go even though she had told him that it was dangerous.
As he was walking, he received a phone call from his sister.
What does
she wants now...?
He questioned as he decided to pick up the call. "Hey, sis, what is it?" He asked as he walked and, to his luck, he was near the first house in his neighborhood. Though, it did confuse him that his sister didn't answer. "Elena...?" William questioned as he noticed that his phone randomly hung up.
This is weird...
He shrugged, but he still decided to walk to his house. "Maybe she dialed the wrong number or something..." He muttered as he rushed to his house.
______
On the other hand, Lucy was finally home. She turned the light on in the living room and decided to watch TV since she was too tired to even research the apps and other possibilities a phone could have.
As she watched TV, she heard footsteps coming from the kitchen, and at first, she was confused because she knew that she was alone in the house. That was when she decided to stand up, but she didn't bother to go to the kitchen, she had seen enough horror movies to know that it was a bad idea. So, she decided to stand and listen instead and she could hear that the footsteps were getting louder and louder and were probably walking near the living room. Any minute, second Lucy didn't want to know. She just prayed to God that she wouldn't experience something sinful.
That was when she could hear the door creak open and she screamed out of fear.
"Why are you screaming...?" She could hear someone ask and that was when she turned around and glanced at Victor, who was soaking wet.
Was he running or something...?
Lucy questioned until she reminded herself that she probably had embarrassed herself in front of her so-called brother and that she still hadn't answered his question. "Uh, hello?" Victor asked. "You there?"
"Yup, I was just uh-" Lucy replied, and soon after that she shrugged. "I was just- watching something that scared me." She laughed out of nervousness, but she could notice that Victor didn't believe her one bit.
"Yeah?" Victor asked as he crossed his arms. "You like watching TV while standing up and not facing it?" He mocked. "Pretty believable if you'd ask me." He said sarcastically and soon after that, he rolled his eyes.
He is getting on
my nerves...
It's not my fault that they
have rats or mice in the house...
She huffed.
Mice do not even
wear high heels and neither do rats...
She sighed as she glanced at Victor. "I think that you should take a shower or something, I'll go to my bedroom." She smiled. "Okay, I guess..." He shrugged.
That was weird...
Lucy thought as she opened the closet to get herself some pajamas. Suddenly after that, she changed into light blue pajamas while she tossed the clothes that she had worn that day in the corner of her bedroom.
She felt oddly nervous about sleeping in her bedroom, but that was rational after all. She was in the new place and everything was still unknown to her. That was when she decided to go to sleep, but before that she plugged the charger into her phone.
Well, I guess that that's it...
She thought to herself as she closed her eyes, trying to fall asleep.
