“Come on, Elizabeth. Wake up you are making us late again” As if sing-song my name will make me move faster. “Ugghhh, what time is it?” She hands me a cup of my favourite spice blend herbal tea as I sit up trying to squint out the bright light coming through the wall to ceiling windows. “Rather ask why are you not dressed yet” she says playfully and wink at me while walking to the en-suite bathroom we share. “Well, I didn’t want to come to this stupid wedding”. I spat back with the most annoyed look I can master. It’s official I hate all weddings, but she insisted I come as part of the so called ‘healing process’. No one left her at the altar so how could she understand, besides I’m not like her who dives first into everything and deals with the consequences later…or never. Downing my tea with two nerve calming pills and reminiscing of some much more well deserved sleep I drag my body out of bed. I think she’ll pop a nerve if she saw I’m still where she left me. Half an hour later Beverley and I are standing in the hotel lobby, waiting for a cab to drive us to the wedding destination. “This is going to be a soap opera” I mutter to myself as people pass by us to get checked in to their rooms. I’m so used to the confused looks we get when we are together in public. She’s always been the looker, with her goddess vibes and equally goddess looks. Most men can not resist her, tanned skin and green eyes that is framed with those long eyelashes. Today she’s wearing a long golden silk gown which accentuates just the right places and curves. We look like two polar opposites that you wouldn’t normally see at any social gatherings. Yep, I guess some people really do have it all. That’s one of the reasons I fell for Tianno, he never looked at her like most men do. Not even once. “Stop thinking about him”. I just roll my eyes at her but I know my face is giving my emotions away.
