“Please let go,” I whispered. “It burns.” Danny gently laid my hand on the ground. The rock beneath me was lovely and cool compared to his touch. “Did we win?” I asked weakly. My vision was beginning to blur. I felt faint. “Danizriel, we need to move her now,” Michael said firmly. Danny nodded his head. Four sets of burning hands picked me up, lifting me high into the air. Something was being pulled though my body, or was I being pulled away from whatever it was? I sensed an emptiness in my chest and stomach. Emptiness wasn’t quite the right way to describe it. When my stomach or lungs were empty I could still feel them. It was more like a hollowness, nothing where something once was. I was too tired and weak to worry about it. All I was concerned with was Satan’s not-so-secret army.
