Chapter 14It was 4 pm. Not far away from the sheriff's office in Bington, Nova was seen near a single-story apartment. She wore blue jeans and a tight blue top that showed off her perky breasts. She peered around before entering the house, and when she was confident she wasn't being followed, she hurriedly entered.
After crossing a semi-lighted hallway, she stood before a closed door. After waiting a minute, she knocked twice on the door. Minutes later, the door slid open and Nova stepped in.
There was a mix of light and shadow in the room and only one piece of furniture: a large desk with a chair in front of it. A television was mounted on the wall. The face of the man in the chair could not be clearly seen in the dark. Nova stood a little further away.
