I held Josh close to my chest the entire night. I could not sleep thinking of what the witch doctor said. Ryder was growling in my head angry at who ever was threatening our mate. I felt Josh move so I looked down and notice he was looking at me.

“What’s the matter my love why aren’t you sleeping?” I asked him. 

He smiled at me and said “how can I when my mate is so worried, you know I can feel your emotions from our bond right.. “

“Xan” he says “hmmm” I respond enjoying how he uses pet names for me. “I Love You Very Much and I want you to know that my heart will always beat for you and only you”... I feel my heart warm when he spoke. I thanked the moon goddess for giving me such a loving mate. 

We closed our eyes while holding each other tight enjoying the moment. After a few hours I heard one of the patrol warriors mind linking me “Alpha rogues have attacked us from the north border there are about 100 of them”. I will be there in a moment. Kill them all. 

I get off the bed really quietly not waking my mate I put my pillow close to him so that he is surrounded by my scent and jump out of our window shifting to my wolf. I reach the border and see a lot of my warriors are down bleeding while the rest are still trying to stop the rogues. We call for more reinforcements and this goes on for more than an hour. Ryder was getting restless and angry. He was worried about our mate who was sleeping unaware of what was happening. Suddenly I felt someone trying to mind link me. It was my mom ... mum what’s wrong I asked when I heard her sniff. 

“You better come back you need to see this for yourself” she said. My I can’t we are being attacked by rogues right now I am at the border, Ryder however started howling and I could not understand what was happening. Then Ryder spoke “Mate is in danger go to Mate”. I immediately asked Mum where is Josh? And she started crying. I let out a loud cry which shakes everyone and I notice the rogues have start to retreat which means this was just a diversion I kill whoever I get and link my warriors to catch a few of them alive. I rush back to the pack house only to see all the pack members collected outside.
