I had seen the damaged ship come into cove, I knew they had ended up in the storm and wondered who they were. Something about the ship looked familiar. I had decided to come out for a walk after this mornings announcement that Rolland wished for him to marry his daughter. She was still as annoying as ever and though it would ensure my status, I did not love the woman. Seeing the ship gave me hope that one day I could be sailing again and not have to be stuck on land. I called out to his Roland's young son Eric to get his father and the group that they had company. When the men below topped the cliff they were already gathered. I saw a ghost of my past when a man of six five stood before me explaining how his sister had lost her husband and was pregnant and due very soon. When I heard Ruby's name i didn't realize that the little red head that popped into my mind was the same woman. An hour after Cole left, I saw a beautiful woman suddenly walking among the heathens She was sun kissed tan and her red hair was pulled back out of her face. She was concentrating so hard on something which made her full lips frown. When she arrived before me, I could only stare down at her. I heard Clive beside me and stepped back as I watched them embrace. Suddenly I felt flushed with jealousy I was thinking about walking away when they went inside when I saw a moment of pain cross her face and suddenly she was going down. Without hesitation I picked her up and looked up at Clive. Quickly as I could I got her to the midwife when I felt her start to spasm in his arms.
I had stayed close to the midwifes cabin throughout the woman giving birth. She screamed out in pain a few times and for some reason I felt like I needed to do what I had to, to protect her. I knew when she collapsed that she was the girl he had been in my dreams. She was the one my mother had always groomed to be the next Queen. When I saw Cole and Clive come up I knew it was near time, Cole came forward and simply asked me how was it was I was alive? For the first time in years when I looked at Cole then asked him to come to the cabin after he seen his sister. Roland had asked me to accompany him to hear the red heads story. Watching her talk made me happy she seemed to be a good Pirate Queen. She was very sad but she barely showed it. I was about to leave with Roland when she called out to me. Her words stuck with me "The lost had become found." Turning to her I looked into her emerald eyes she was smiling softly. I couldn't help myself walked over to her and knelt down.
"You told me of your dream once and now its fully come true." "You are always welcome to come home with us. We have missed you Grey, I am sorry for your mother...." Before she could finish I gently hugged her, the feel of her in my arms felt like I finally found what I was looking for. She was tired and I had promised to talk to Cole. Once we were done talking I just held her till she fell asleep then I slipped away.
Cole was waiting quietly he looked like he had a million and one questions but the man kept silent as we walked to my cabin. I had Cole sit down and watched as the slave girl finished with the fire then left. Once it was just the two of us I just started to talk. I talked about how I had forgotten almost everything about my prior life, only thing I knew was my mother was a queen and that she was who I had been trying to get back to when the ship went down. I did not know that the whole crew had been lost at sea, I had always hoped they had found an island they washed up on as well. I talked of my life with the heathens, and how my dreams had always been about Ruby and sailing. When Cole explained once I and Ruby had been an couple of sorts after Ruby and Cole's mother passed away. Cole told me how we had always been told to be protectors over her and how for a long time that was exactly what we were. I listened very intently, I was glad to have someone who I could talk to and not feel like I was exposing to much of myself. I told Cole that I was invited by Ruby to come back with them I knew instantly by Cole's face that he liked the idea, but I knew it would in the end have to be my decision.
