Antonio and Lucio tried to survive on the streets by begging, but it didn't work. People would pass them by, ignoring their pleas for help. They were hungry, tired, and desperate.
Lucio, as the senior brother, knew he had to do something. He started looking for a job, but it wasn't easy. He was rejected by every employer he approached. No one wanted to hire a young boy with no experience.
But Lucio didn't give up. He kept trying, day after day, until finally, he got a part-time job as a waiter at a bar. He was only paid in change, but it was better than nothing.
For two months, Lucio worked hard, serving drinks and cleaning tables. He barely earned enough to afford two square meals a day for himself and Antonio. But he was determined to make it work.
Finally, after two months of hard work, Lucio was able to get Antonio a job as a janitor at the same bar. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
Things seemed to be getting better for the brothers. They had a roof over their heads, food in their bellies, and a sense of purpose. But little did they know, their struggles were far from over.
As they walked home from work one night, they noticed a strange man following them. He was tall, with a menacing gaze, and a scar above his left eyebrow.
Lucio and Antonio quickened their pace, but the man kept following them. They could feel his eyes on them, boring into their skin.
Suddenly, the man stepped out of the shadows and blocked their path. "You two are quite the entrepreneurs, aren't you?" he sneered. "Working at the bar, making a living. But do you know who I am?"
Lucio and Antonio exchanged a nervous glance. "Who are you?" Lucio asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
The man smiled, revealing a gold tooth. "I'm the one who owns this city. And you two are just pawns in my game."
He pulled out a small notebook and flipped through the pages. "I've been watching you, Lucio. I know all about your little job at the bar. And I know all about your brother's janitorial skills."
Antonio took a step back, his eyes wide with fear. "What do you want from us?" he asked.
The man chuckled. "Oh, I don't want much. Just a small favor. You see, I have a little business proposition for you. And if you agree, I'll make sure you're taken care of."
Lucio narrowed his eyes. "What kind of proposition?"
The man smiled again. "I'll tell you all about it later. But for now, let's just say it involves a little...delivery job."
Lucio and Antonio exchanged a skeptical glance. They didn't like the sound of this.
But the man just laughed. "Don't worry, boys. You'll be richly rewarded. And if you refuse...well, let's just say you won't be so lucky next time."
And with that, he turned and disappeared into the night, leaving Lucio and Antonio with a sense of unease that would haunt them for days to come.
What did this man want from them? And how far would he go to get it? Lucio and Antonio didn't know, but they were about to find out.
As they walked home, they couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched. They kept looking over their shoulders, expecting to see the man's menacing gaze following them.
But he was nowhere to be seen. At least, not yet.
Little did they know, their lives were about to take a drastic turn. And they would soon find themselves in a world of trouble, with no way out.
The suspense was killing them. What would happen next? Would they be able to escape the man's clutches? Or would they be trapped in his web of deceit?
Only time would tell. But one thing was certain: Lucio and Antonio's lives would never be the same again.
