Chapter Two Elsie's POV "Elsie, you need to get treated", the doctor announced "Treated?", I asked, "I'm not sick doctor", I argued "I know Elsie, you wouldn't say you are sick but you really are, you need to get treated before it is too late", he said "I said I'm not sick", I roared, "Having a nightmare doesn't mean I'm sick, does it?", I rolled my eyes at him "It doesn't but your nightmare isn't a normal one Elsie. How can anyone say Werewolves exist?", he asked I spranged up, "Doctor Smith, I'm not sick and I don't need your help", I said and turned to leave "Elsie", he called I turned back with a smile, "Think about it, you sure need to get treated, this might affect your mental health", he said again "Doctor, werewolves does exist and I'm not mad so stop making such speculations", I said and walked out of his office. I got to the garage, zoomed off and on to the office, I was welcomed with lots of files. Working in the City's Police station was tiring, we've been working on some cases and one of them was the case of Lucy who was murdered. "Elsie, I got the pictures", James said to me, James was an intern detective, he was under my supervision and we've been working on the murder case of Lucy. "Thanks James", I replied and took the pictures from him. I glanced through it and was surprised with what I saw. Lucy's murder doesn't seem ordinary from the start and the pictures made that clear, her heart was missing and she had marks which were from claws. "Look at this", James said and handed more pictures over to me, "This body was also found at the crime scene", he added I took it from him and stared at the pictures for a while, "Has a missing report be filed for anyone?", I asked "Yes, a missing report was filed few days ago but it wasn't for him, no one has come for him and his identity remains unknown", he replied The case was becoming complicated as the other body was also marked with claws, "What did the autopsy report say?", I asked "I met Joe personally", Joe was the best pathologist in the city, "He made it clear that the claw marks from the pictures looks like it was from an animal", he responded "An animal?", I asked, the murder doesn't look like it came from an animal, "How?", I asked "He isn't sure too", James said and sigh, he walked up to his desk and came back with a file, "Look at this Elsie, this is the murder case of Chloe", he said I took the file from him, "Okay?", Chloe was also murdered but I couldn't figure out the connection "See this", he said pointing to the mark on Chloe's neck from one of the pictures, "And this", he added, the same mark was on Lucy's neck, "Joe said the mark looks like it came from an animal teeth, the dog family to be precise", he added "Dog family?", I asked but only for my ears, a dog wouldn't do that to a human, "This can't be done by a dog", I said "I thought so", James responded "A werewolf?", I asked "You meant to say a wolf?", James asked raising an eyebrow "No James, you heard right, this could be a werewolf", I said again, "A dog wouldn't pierce through a humans chest, don't you think so?", I asked "I.. I don't think so. Werewolf doesn't exist", he replied "Come with me James, let's got to the crime scene, we might find some clue", I said and spranged up, James walked right behind me. I believed werewolves exist, I can remember faintly how they look like, I felt like I've seen one before but no one would believe such. We spent hours in the crime scene but still couldn't find anything. "There's nothing here Elsie, can we just go already?", James asked "I feel like we are going to find something", I said and I wasn't wrong, the light went off almost immediately, James held my hand, "Get off me you coward", I shouted and laughed, I heard some footstep, "Hey quiet, I can hear someone coming", I added "Are you trying to scare me?, can you just stop please?", James whispered "Quiet", I said and covered his mouth, the footstep kept coming closer, James held my hand tight. The light came on again and a guy stood right in front of us, he was in a black suit and a white top, his face was covered with a mask and only his eyes were visible, he wore gloves in his hands. "Elsie.. let's.. let's.. just run away", James stammered, such a coward "Get off me", I said and jerked his hand off me, "Who are you?", I asked the man standing right in our front. He cranked his eyes and turned to leave, I ran to him and held his hand, my other hand in my pocket, right on my gun, I had to stay alert, "Who are you?", I asked again He turned and cranked his eyes again, his eyes turned green, "Forget every you've seen about me", he said and released his hand from my grip, "What..", I heard a loud crash and turned, it was James, I rushed to him, "Hey!!, hey James", I called, he looked like he passed out, "Hey!, wake up", I said and he cranked his eyes open, "Are you okay?", I asked "What... what... what happened Elsie?", James asked, "Did we find any clue?", he asked again "No we didn't, but that guy looked suspicious?", I asked "What... what guy?", he asked "The guy, the..", that was when I remembered the last sentence made by the guy, "Forget everything you've seen", I said to myself, I was confused as I could remember everything that happened but James couldn't, his statement worked on James but not me. "What guy?", James asked again "Never mind James, I get everything now", I said and helped him get up, "Come on, I will drop you", I added. The guy seemed suspicious and his eyes made everything clear, I felt like I have seen someone with a green eyes before but I couldn't figure out where and when. his words worked on James but didn't work on me, I couldn't proof anything. My head ached as I thought about this, I dropped James at his house, half an hour later, I got to my own street, I knew my parents would be home. A brand new black Lexus sat in front of the house but I didn't pay much attention to the car . I assumed it belonged to the guest of a neighbour and since the front door was surrounded by a small, walled courtyard, I couldn't see right away if anyone waited there. Still blissfully ignorant of who owned the black Lexus, I turned into the driveway. As I drove towards the detached garage,I glanced to the side and, through a break in the courtyard wall, I saw my dad at the doorstep, he stood there with his hand on his back. He smiled at me and his eyes turned green just like the guy's eyes. I was so stunned, my foot stomped on the accelerator ,the car shot forward. Reflex had me slamming on the brakes just in time to avoid a collision with the garage door. “Am I imagining things?”, I asked myself I bounced forward and backward as the car came to a halt. And then I just sat there, willing my heart could stop pounding so hard, wondering what was going on. I jerked the keys from the ignition, jumped from the car, sprinted for the tiny patio. I walked up to my dad. "Dad?", I called "Welcome Elsie, come on in", he said and walked me in, my mum was in the kitchen "Welcome Elsie", my mum said, something seemed weird "Mum, I'm famished", I said and set to eat, the table had already been set, I served myself but I could smell ginger, I was allergic to ginger and my mum knew that, "Mum?", I called "You good?", she asked "Mum, is there ginger in here?", I asked pointing to the food "Yes Elsie, what is it about ginger?", she asked. My mum would never add ginger to our meal and she didn't have her bonnet on, mum would never cook without having her bonnet, everything seemed weird and suspicious, My dad was in the living room watching the news but my dad would never do that, who are these people?
