Jason's POV
The horn sounded as foot stepped came closer to the hill. Far far away, I could see the Roman legion, the legion once I commanded was matching to attack me.
Behind me was all my Greek friends. They were all my family, I didn't want to harm anyone of them. Not Greeks or even Romans. Piper stood beside me as she held my hand. Yes, I have become the camp's leader, thanks to Piper, she helped me a lot. She's the best girlfriend I've ever had.
The Romans stopped in front of our phalanx down at Half Blood Hill. Octavian was leading them, that jerk.
"Jason, it's been a long time." Octavian greeted.
"Octavian" I called down to him. "This war is meaningless. Our enemy is Gaia. We don't need to do this."
"Stop trying to protect those pathetic Greeks Jason. You're a Roman, you supposed to help us, not them."
"I'm not in any side." I called out. "You're all my family. I don't want to hurt you guys. Please just stop this meaningless fight."
"Jason you traitor" Octavian bellowed. "After many months. I think the Greeks have washed your brain away. I give you one last chance. Come back or until we win, I won't tolerate you."
I knew this was all Octavian's plan. "Is this what you want my brave Roman soldiers? Do you really want to fight this war?"
Many eyes showed me the answer. They didn't want to fight. They were just following the order. Octavian glared at me. "Stop pulling more time Jason. No one can help you now. You join us or what?"
I turned back at my Greek friends. The last eight months was the best time of my life. I always hated the Greeks, but until now, I've come to know how good they are. They gave me so much. That was then I made up my decision.
"My Greek friends here took me in when I lost my memory." I said. "I treated me like part of their family. If today I have to die, I shall die with them." I looked down at Piper, who was smiling at me. I love her so much.
Octavian sighed, although I saw a smirk after it. "Well then" he said. "I'll full fill your wish." He pointed his sword up at us and shouted. "Charge!"
Immediately, hundred of Romans ran up the hill in their formation like machine.
I turned back at my friends and nodded at them as they did the same. I pointed my sword down at the Romans and shouted. "Charge!"
Percy's POV
Artemis and I appeared in a forest in Camp Half Blood. Suddenly, I heard some sound in the bushes and immediately took out my weapon.
A moment later, two unexpected people walked out from it. Hazel and Frank.
"Guys!" I exclaimed and hugged them.
They pulled back immediately and worry was write on their face.
"What's wrong?" I asked. "Why did you guys come here?."
"Percy, you have to help us." Hazel said.
"Octavian is using the legion to attack on Camp Half Blood." Frank finished for her.
"What!?" I burst out. "Where is Reyna. She's the one that taking charge. Octavian can't go to war without her permission."
"He used the support of people for you Percy" Hazel said. "He said he comes to rescue you from the Greeks. But I don't think that is his purpose."
"We didn't agree with this, so we dashed out from the legion and went to find you. You need to come quick" Frank said.
I sighed. This Octavian never changed. "We cannot leave this anymore longer. Let's go."
The four of us ran out from the forest and jumped into a bush at Half Blood Hill, not far away from the battle.
As far as I know, the battle had turned into a stalemate. The Greeks had the advantages with higher position and longer weapons. But the Roman had the better set up in formation and bigger shields. Some broke down from the line and clashed into each other. So far, there hasn't got any casualty yet. But I knew it would come soon.
I held Artemis's hand I ran out to help, but she stopped. I turned back to her, confused.
"I can't go Percy" she said. "Gods cannot interfere. I really want to help, but I can't"
"It's alright" I told her. " stay here ok?"
She nodded and gave me a peck on the lips. Well enough to made Hazel and Frank surprised. And with that, the three of us, just like the time we went on the quest. Ran out from the bush into the battlefield.
"What the hell are you guys doing?" I shouted as I threw a Roman soldier away, who was attempted to strike down a Greek soldier.
"Stop this!" I shouted again as I blocked a sword with my sword and chopped a spear in half.
I knew this wouldn't work for long. Then I spotted Octavian, who was standing in the middle of the fight, being protected by thirty maybe forty kids. Wow, he took the whole Cohort to protect him. What a coward.
"Octavian!" I grumbled and advanced to him. Some Romans recognised me as they moved away. While the one didn't, charged at me. I blocked their swords easily and kicked them aside. Soon enough, I broke the wall of soldiers and confronted Octavian.
Octavian looked about to die when he saw me. That's good.
"Oh, Percy. Glad to see you again." He greeted.
"What are you doing Octavian." I yelled over the roar and clashing swords.
"I-I've come to rescue you"
"Well I'm here now." I said. "Sound the horn for them to stop."
I turned to the fight. Blood had flowed, but there wasn't dead. I was so focused on the fight I only heard few words from Octavian. "Yes, yes...praetor." Suddenly, a surge of pain spread out through on my torso.
Turning back, a small knife had already buried in it. "Octavian...you" I glared at him.
"I'm sorry Percy, but I think the praetor's seat should be mine now." He drew his sword and slashed down at me.
I roared in range as I swung my sword up. My sword clashed against his as our blades bounced back. Fear was written all over Octavian's face. I could feel my eyes were on fire. I pulled out the knife and threw it in the ground as I winced a little. I glared at Octavian, made to him step back.
"I'll kill you" I bellowed and charged at him. Octavian started to run. He pushed who ever he could touch on my way, but I just pushed them aside.
"Kill him! Stop that monster!" Octavian screamed at some soldiers as they took out their swords and advanced to me. I slashed the first guy's sword off his hand, then kicked the second guy and knocked the next guy out with a punch.
I jumped up and wanted to trike down at Octavian. But he put up his sword to block mine. He tried to attack me, and I block every attack he parried at me. My speed was so fast and plus with my madness. I hit Octavian's sword away and kicked his leg as he was falling down, I slashed out my sword coming with my roar.
Octavian's head flew off his neck, blood shot up to my face as the head flew up on the sky and dropped on the ground, rolling few times before it stopped. With eyes still open.
I was standing in a pool of blood, coming out from Octavian's neck. The headless body dropped on the ground with a 'thug'. The fight stopped immediately.
"Is this what you want?" I grumbled glaring around. "You want blood?"
They were so quite, that I could only here the rustle of the leaves. Octavian didn't have to die. I didn't have to kill him. My hands was coated with one of my brother's blood.
"We are all brothers for gods's sake" I yelled.
"You!" I pointed at a Greek soldier, made him startled. I gestured him to come. He looked like he would faint in any moment.
"Bring me an arrow" I demanded.
They all looked confused, but Frank still ran up and gave me one. I tossed it to the Greek soldier. "Break it" I ordered.
As what I expected, he broke the arrow in half easily.
"You" I pointed again at a frightened centurion. He came forward just like the Greek. "Give me a quiver of arrows."
Frank threw his at me and I tossed it at the centurion.
"Break all the arrows in that quiver at once."
The centurion took a hold of arrows and tried to break it. Sure, no matter how hard he tried, it wouldn't bend. Two more Romans and a Greek came to help him, but it just bent a little and the soldiers all had veins visible on their neck and temples.
I walked up and took the arrows, then held them up in the air. "Can you see that?" I said. "We are just like these arrows. When we are divided, we will be just like that single arrow. The enemy can break and destroy us easily. But once we come together like these arrows. No matter how many and strong they are, they can never break us."
They all came to make sense and started nodding.
"Our enemy is Gaia. Not among ourselves" I told them. "We are brother. We share the same blood. The blood of gods, the blood of heroes. We're a family, we're one."
"Would you kill the guy in front of you?" I asked a Roman while pointing at another Roman.
He shook his head in response. "How about you?" I did the same with the Greeks.
They all shook their heads.
"If you don't want to kill your brothers, sisters. So why Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter have to fight against each other? Isn't it just like you're killing your own brothers?" I said.
They all dropped their weapons and nodded. Some smiled, some shook their hands with the other. Finally, after 5000 years of war ranging between the demigods. The rivalry has finally stopped and they all came into one. I just smiled at the sight how my family has come together.
"Percy has brought us together" some one shouted from the crowd.
"He should lead us in this war." The other said.
"Percy is our leader. Percy is our leader."
The crowd both Romans and Greeks started cheering my name. It spread across the field, rumbled the sky. I guessed Zeus wouldn't be pleased if everyone cheering my name instead of him.
Artemis walked next to me and took my hand. "You did good back there." She planted a kiss on my cheek.
I just smiled but didn't say anything. I swung my arm around her and pulled her closer to me.
Now we're family.
