I ran all the way down the stairs, panting so hard as I trembled.
I knew so well that if I got caught, I definitely was going to be dead meat.
“Ugh.”
“You just ruined this for me.” I heard Elsa say as she walked down the stairs.
I hurried my way into the laundry room, which apparently was the closest.
I had the door closed almost immediately as I had myself hidden from her.
All of what was happening was way too much for me to handle, I couldn't help but shiver in fear holding on to my chest in my hidden spot.
I wasn't so surprised walking in on the both of them, but what I tried understanding was why she ever did that.
I just couldn't subdue my curiosity and for some reason, I had to push through with finding out who it was. Eventually, it turned out to be the one girl my mate had me ditched for.
I had my head lowered in my legs, knowing what I had done could earn me a slap from her and even worse.
Just as I say back there with a lot going through my head, I could feel a tall familiar figure coming towards me.
The minute I had wanted to run off, he grabbed me by the arm pulling me closer to himself.
Alejandro…
“Please let me go.” I pleaded, falling on my knees.
“In here.” he revealed, calling out to Elsa, who looked more she was so ready to have me killed on the spot.
“Please.” I sobbed.
“What were you doing lurking around the hallway?” she asked, leaning forward to me on the floor.
The look in her eyes, said the exact plan she had in mind to do me.
“I…”
“I wasn’t…” I said hoping she would believe my first words
But she didn't, instead she grabbed a handful of my hair as she slammed my face on the flow board.
I cried out in pain as I felt my nose bleed, as it was hurting so bad afterward.
“You wouldn't want me doing any more damage on this face of yours” she said.
“Remember this, you have no proof of what you saw in there. No one is definitely going to believe a slave girl like yourself.
I nodded with my broken nose as tears rolled down my eyes.
“Now, get lost.” she ordered.
I ran as fast my legs could carry me, into my cell of a room that I was made to live in.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I cried my eyes to sleep knowing I was going to be in more trouble if I didn’t take off the way I did.
**********************************
I woke up freezing in my cell, remembering how it had felt like months being left there and even worse with only scraps of food from time to time.
I had my head laid back down onto the hard mattress, if it could even be called that.
All that went through my head were thoughts on how to be free.
The next morning I had woken up to the guard right in front of my cell door banging so hard that my brains felt as though they were sure going to pop out of my head.
He had me taken out immediately, but surprisingly had my cuffs removed.
I could see the glazed look in Brien’s deep green eyes, as he approached me by the hallway.
“Come with me.” His cold baritone was like ice, that pierced through my soul, paralyzing my wolf, as his tone kept reverberating in my scattered mind.
“Ever given a good massage before?” He asked aggressively, making me shiver at the sound of his voice.
And not shivers of blissful pleasure but one of fear.
“No…” I stuttered.
“Come over here and have that done now.” He said as he laid flat on his tummy.
Surprisingly, my wolf leaped in amazement. For the first time, I was going to touch my mate.
Don't be silly. I cautioned my wolf.
I get it, I'm yet to accept the rejection, the reason for the awkward pull after the splendid rejection.
“What’s with the face, get on with it.” His icy tone cut through my train of thoughts, as he started at me through the mirror in front of us.
I find myself succumbing to his order, like I was jinxed. Always an advantage of being an alpha.
At once, my wolf bent me down, facing me squarely at his sexy frame. His well sculptured abs that dished authority at its wake, tightly strapped to his long sleeve.
I salivated.
I had my tiny hands on his gigantic body, as my fingers trailed from one end to the other.
As I went on, I was hoping Elsa wouldn’t just barge in on us getting the whole image wrong.
Not like I care, he was mine to start with. Getting this close to my lifetime crush and mate, gave me this energy to want to fight for something for the first time in forever.
“You missed out on a spot.” He redirected me, as he held my hand and pulled it up to his shoulders.
My wolf howled from his touch making me crave him even more, I felt heat radiate over my bare skin, which made me quiver, for want of his touch... just one more touch.
The next minute, he paused, staring at my reflection through the mirror as our eyes met.
I took my eyes off immediately feeling so out of place having him stare at me in such a manner.
“What’s that on your face?” He asked as he sat upright staring at my face.
I froze not knowing how to explain, I had broken a nose from walking in on Elsa and his Beta.
Bless the moon goddess. I exclaim. It would have been worse if he had caught that goofy look on my face.
“I…”
“I slipped and fell” I found a neat lie.
He stayed mute for a couple of minutes staring deep into my eyes as it felt as though he could see through me.
“You are lying.” He shot at me.
I fidgeted with the sleeves of my dress as I had my head lowered to the ground.
What does he mean? The mind link is half-dead, how did he sense my fears and lies?
My wolf remain silent... A peaceful betrayer.
Brien moved closer to me, as he had my face raised staring into my eyes.
For some reason, he paused, lost in my eyes, leaning forward to me slowly.
The minute I could feel his breath on my face, I flinched with fear of him kissing me out of the blue.
“I…”
“I can’t do this” I said running out, not wanting to listen to him calling out to me.
Unfortunately, I ran into Elsa by the hallway.
“What the hell are you doing here?” She asked, holding on to my hair yelling into my face.
“Speak slave!” She demanded as her voice echoed in the hallway.
In no time, she had her hand over my face making me fall to the floor.
At this point, the universe felt so unfair having me go through such even in the hands of my mate being around.
“Stop.” A deep growl accompanied the order…
For the longest minutes, it felt like the world collapsed. Just one word, strong enough to cause chaos.
