CHAPTER 4 BRIEN'S POV

1057 Words
I felt so paranoid watching how cruel she acted towards her. But more stupid, knowing I couldn't put my wolf in check. The weak slave is yet to accept the rejection, because there was no other reasonable excuse to my odd behavior and attraction, regardless. Why won't she accept it, even after the incessant torture? “Seriously Brien?” Elsa asked, letting go of her hair aggressively. Wolves were crafted to kill and most importantly to protect their mates, I guess that turned out to be the reason I couldn't get her off my head. Seeing those bruises on the bridge of her nose, I knew Elsa had done this. I clenched my fist trying to fight the urge to have her pinned to the wall in front of a mate I was so ashamed of and wanted nothing to do with. I had expected a perfect welcome party and a beautiful gift from the moon goddess, but instead, I got a slave girl for a mate. Moving back in town, with the absence of my father, made it even worse wanting to be here. “I said, stop.” I reiterated, and even the dumbest wolf dare not make an alpha repeat his orders. I started to approach them with fine agility. Watching Elsa hurt her in such a manner, made me feel things. Things I shouldn't feel even after I had her rejected. My wolf growled as I took in more steps in getting to them and just when I did, I grabbed Elsa by the hand pulling her away from Ava. “My office... Now!” I ordered as I walked out on Elsa. “Why did you stop me, Brien?” Elsa grumbled walking into the office as she had the door shut. “Sit down.” I don’t stop dishing out orders. “Is there something wrong?” she asked. Ignoring my restless wolf, I tried putting myself in place looking into her eyes holding back my wolf from strangling her to death. “Did you do it?” I asked. She stared at me in confusion, probably wondering what I meant. “Those scars,” I said, not wanting to complete my statement. “I don't know what you are talking about.” She mumbled, looking away. In that moment, I knew she did it eventually. The atmosphere was so intense that I could even feel the heat from us both. “Is that what you should be worrying about at the moment?” she asked, flipping her hair to the side. “Have you forgotten you have more than that to worry about?” she finished. The minute she did, I snapped back to reality remembering I had the Alpha kings from the Litha Moon Pack to worry about. “Damn.” I sighed. “You are right.” I said, running my hands through my head. I hated how hard it was getting these men over at my pack. “You know them so well to be the most influential across all packs.” she said walking over to me as she had her butt on my desk. “I will have those invites sent out to them tonight, and hope they will respond,” I said. “Good” she said smiling as he had fingers trailing on my face. “How do you intend on getting an alliance from them then?” she asked. Screw politics. I'm getting frustrated. I was running low on supplies and even worse the attacks were becoming persistent. I need more alliances. It turned out the Alpha kings were just perfect. The day ran out so fast that I couldn't tell whether or not it had been a good day. Even for the fact that, my wolf kept yelling at me towards keeping her down in the cell room. I mean what am I supposed to do about her? I talked to my wolf. I don't want her, she's weak. I stood in front of the mirror for a couple of seconds staring at the scar I had gotten as a teen fighting off wolves in the woods. Down to the left side of my neck was a soft drawing of a bite but also healed and was not fresh. I was nervous about the night, as I prayed so hard not to get humiliated by these men invited. But still, I had to be strong. *********** The ceremony kicked off, as I stood by the walkway welcoming our guests for the reunion celebration. As I stood there waiting, I mentally prepared myself for all the drama to happen tonight. I always feared what these men had the power to do in the absence of their Alpha. Ignoring all the snarky thoughts that popped into my head. I had invited a few other pack Alphas who weren't the strongest but had in one way or the other survived this far by maintaining a good relationship with other strong packs. “Gonzalo O’Brien.” A deep voice called out to me from behind. Antonio!?… The Most influential Alpha twin in history, I was in shock he had come but for some reason he was alone. “Antonio.” I said as I approached him and just when I did, I realized Fernandez was right behind him. I guess I was having a full house at the Pack Treaty party anyway. I had my eyes over to Elsa who was busy with other guests as she had a fake smile which I could tell was obvious. “Come gentleman, let us have some wine shortly!!” I said leading them all to the dining section of the room. A tingling sensation rushes down my whole body as Ava walks into the room with a tray of wine accompanied by the other omega girls as they fill the corners of the room serving my guests. But in that instant, I felt my wolf growl consistently as I wondered why exactly. I knew something was wrong… “Come, sit with us,” I heard Antonio say. Just as I turned to take a look at who it was he gave those order s to, my wolf growled even more, like it would burst out and rip off their heads. Get your hands off my mate… Now…
