"And who might you be?"

"Lately? The Third Wheel."

In which Mara will follow her staff-wielding best friend, a shady guy she met a day ago, and Dameron's cute droid across the stars to save the galaxy, all while making witty remarks to attempt to out-sass Han Solo and trying not to dig up her past in the process.

summary
"You have a very odd way of looking at the galaxy." "Hit first, questions later thing? It's not odd, it's just an effective survival method." Years ago, Mara crashed in the middle of nowhere while running away from an over-complicated life she didn't want, where she met a young woman who had been rejected just as she had. Now, Mara would follow Rey to the ends of the galaxy if she asked her to, but they contentedly stayed on a remote desert planet working as scavengers. It wasn't until a cute little droid that belonged to an old friend of the blonde's showed up that Mara realized in her absence, the First Order had become a force to be reckoned with. After meeting a random guy who wore Dameron's jacket claimed he knew Poe (something he only explained after two desert girls kicked his ass), they embark on a journey to try and save the fate of known space from a reboot weapon and a Darth Vader knockoff. It's an adventure that includes sarcastic jokes from a blonde who thinks she's funny, a staff-wielding girl who tries to keep said blonde out of jail, a man who's really not good at flirting, a hero who's too old for this, an oversized teddy bear, another guy who they all assume is dead until he's not, way too many fourth wall breaks, and a past that keeps catching up at the wrong moments. ~ "You were hurt badly, and those scars will be with you forever. I feel sorry for you, I really do. But think of it like this: it's not too late to recover. You're young, you're tough. You're adaptable. You can patch up your wounds, lift up your head and move on." -Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore ~ I own Mara, her plotlines, and any other original characters. All other properties belong to Lucasfilm and/or Disney and I do not claim them.
