The Girl Born Of The Stars
1.The Birth of a keeper.
The night Raniah was born, the stars went silent.
No one noticed that time, her parents were too busy with the cries of the new born, the worries of a
small home and the joy of see her tiny face. for the first time . But somewhere far above in the vast
expanse of the cosmos, a single star flared brighter than anyother then dimmed to a gentle pulse like a
heartbeat.
The midewife held her in the lantern lit room and whispered " she is special I can feel it".
Her mother laughed softly, exhausted, " all babies are special, aren't they".
But the midwife shook her head , Not like this one , There is something in her something the stars
themselves seem to recognize .
At night as Raniah slept in her cradle, her tiny fingers curled around her blanket. A faint shimmer
invisible to mortal eyes, traced patterns across her skin.Constellations, delicate and intricate, pulsed
softly. No one saw it, no knew but the stars had choosen her.Years passed and Raniah grew like other
child . she laughed , scraped her knees and dream about the stars in the sky.
She didn't know that each twinkle about her reflected a part of her own destiny.She didn't know that the
stars she adamired from her rooftop were silently waiting for the days she would wake to her purpose
2. Child hood whispers of the stars .
At five , she would wake in the middle of the night , drawn to the window by a soft hum only she could
hear. The stars twinkled differently for her , forming patterns that made her heartache with longing.
When she reached out tiny sparks lingered on her fingertips. She thought it was a dream.
At eight, she discovered she could sense the emotions of those around her . When her neighbor was
sad , she felt a pull in her chest, when a stray dog was scared, she could hear it's tiny heartbeats in her
minds. She called it's her gift though she didn't know where it came from.
3 .By Twelve , she began to notice something more, The Stars seemed to respond to her moods. When
she was happy, the night sky sparkled as though it were laughing with her. When she was afraid
shadows gathered in corners of the sky and chill would run down her spine.
