Kaden and Amanda arrived at the place that she is renting, a small room at the rooftop of an old apartment building near a convenient store and a few blocks away from a police station.
Before entering the small room Amanda told her cousin that he isn't allowed to bring anyone in the house since it's not his and she's the one renting it to which Kaden nodded, "I won't, I don't know anyone here except you" Kaden said before Amanda opened the door and went inside.
There is a small living room with a couch, a small table, a tv infront of it and next to it on the right is the small kitchen with a small fridge, a sink and shelves to store kitchen wares and foods. On the left of the small living room is Amanda's room and next to it is another room but smaller.
"As you can see this place is not big, since you're gonna be staying here you need to pay for rent too" Amanda said looking directly at Kaden, "Of course I will, I will help you with everything too" Kaden said with a smile, "You better, I'm not taking care of you" Amanda said looking at her cousin annoyed.
"You need to find a job so you can work and earn money to give me" she continued, "Also I don't want you opening the tv, it will raise our electricity" she said pointing at the small television at the living room, to which Kaden nodded understanding that they are both not rich and they need to limit their spendings, "The kitchen doesn't have alot and everything that I buy is mine you can't touch it, you have to buy your own food" she added smirking, "I understand! I'll buy my own so you don't need to worry about that" Kaden said with a small smile which he received an eyeroll from Amanda.
"This room is mine, you are not allowed to go here unless I tell you to" Amanda said while pointing at her bedroom door, "This one is yours" she added opening the door of the small room, Kaden walked inside and looked at Amanda smiling, "I had put my old mattress in there, you can use it" Amanda said standing by the door with her eyebrows raised, "Thank you Amanda, I really appreciate you taking me in" Kaden said to his cousin.
"I have somewhere else to go, you can go look around outside, whatever you want but I'm not helping you when you get lost" Amanda said, "I left the spare keys on table, take it when you go out" she added before leaving the small apartment. Kaden put his bags on the floor next to the mattress on the floor, he sat on the mattress sighing, it's not much but he's still thankful that he has a place to stay while away from his parents.
He took out his phone from his pocket and messaged his mom that they arrived safely to Amanda's apartment.
Kaden and Amanda were close when they were younger, just kids trying to have fun and play around. Her parents weren't rich as well but they try to give Amanda a great life, that's why when Amanda wanted to leave and study in the city her parents worked twice as hard to fulfill their childs dream. That's when Kaden and Amanda rarely talked and lost their closeness but that didn't change Kaden's love to his cousin, she's always gonna be kind in his eye, only if he knew everything about her changed when she moved to the city.
Kaden stood up and checked the money that his parents gave him before leaving there, counted it and kept it deep inside one of his bags, he then went out of the apartment to look around, it's the only room on the roof top so you'll only see the neighbors when you go up and go down, the space outside is where they can wash their clothes, hang it to dry and hangout there if they want to.
Kaden went to the end of the rooftop to look from there and see what it looks like down and see other buildings and apartments. On the other side is where the streets are, he can see the cars passing and people crossing the streets. Kaden smiled thinking and hoping everything will work out while staying there.
Kaden went back inside and took the apartment keys before going down and leaving to look around and maybe get himself a job if he's lucky.
