The kingdom waited for a king.

Instead, the Moon Goddess sent a girl.

Born during the Blood Moon Eclipse with the sacred Moon Mark, Kael Nocturne was supposed to become the future Alpha ruler of Varelis.

But the moment the Elders discovered the chosen heir was female, they buried the truth.

Her scent was sealed.

Her identity was erased.

And she was raised as a male Alpha heir inside the royal palace.

For twenty three years, Kael lived as the perfect weapon.

Cold enough to terrify enemies.

Strong enough to make Alphas kneel.

Empty enough to survive.

No one knew the feared future king was actually the woman forbidden to claim the throne.

Not even Kael herself.

But secrets do not stay hidden forever.

When a sacred ritual awakens powers no Alpha should possess, Kael’s carefully controlled life begins collapsing. Her wolf finally speaks after years of silence. Ancient enemies emerge from the shadows. And the ruthless Supreme Alpha Ronan Vale starts looking at her like he already knows the truth she would kill to protect.

Then the impossible happens.

Kael’s sealed scent breaks in front of the most powerful Alphas in the kingdom.

And suddenly, the heir they once worshipped becomes the greatest threat to the throne.

Now the Lunar Council wants her dead.

The Alphas want control over her power.

The rogues want her to lead a revolution.

And Ronan, the man fate tied to her soul, may become either her greatest protector or the reason she loses everything.

Because the prophecy was never about a king.

It was about a queen.

A queen destined to destroy the werewolf world built by men.

Chapter one
The royal arena smelled like blood, iron, and fear. Thousands of eyes followed Kael Nocturne as she stepped across the black stone platform, her boots stained dark red from the previous fight. Above the arena walls, silver banners carrying the crest of the Moon Throne snapped violently beneath the night wind. The crowd was loud moments ago. Now silence spread through the arena like a living thing. Because the rogue Alpha kneeling before Kael was still breathing. Barely. Blood poured from the man’s mouth as he struggled to rise. One of his arms bent unnaturally beside him while claw marks tore across his chest. Kael stood motionless in front of him. Cold silver eyes. Expressionless face. Not even breathing hard. “You lose,” she said quietly. The rogue spat blood onto the arena floor and laughed weakly. “They call you the future king of Varelis.” His eyes darkened with hatred. “But everyone knows something is wrong with you.” Whispers immediately spread through the crowd. Kael heard every single one. Silent wolf. Moon cursed. Broken heir. Her fingers curled slowly at her sides. The rogue grinned after noticing. “There it is,” he mocked. “Anger.” Kael moved before the crowd could blink. A sickening c***k echoed through the arena as her fist slammed into his jaw hard enough to send him sliding across the black stone. The rogue stopped moving. Dead silence followed. Then the crowd erupted. Some shouted her name in worship. Others lowered their eyes in fear. Kael ignored all of them. High above the arena, members of the Lunar Council watched from the royal balcony dressed in silver ceremonial robes. Their expressions remained unreadable, but Kael noticed the way several of them whispered quietly to one another. Watching her too carefully. Again. It had been happening more often recently. Like they were waiting for something. Or afraid of it. “Another victory for the royal heir,” the announcer declared loudly. The crowd roared once more. Kael felt nothing. No pride. No satisfaction. Only exhaustion. As she turned toward the arena exit, a sharp pain suddenly tore beneath the Moon Mark on her chest. Her steps nearly faltered. Pain shot through her ribs like burning claws digging beneath her skin. Kael stopped instantly. The crowd did not notice. Years of training kept her expression controlled. But inside, panic flickered violently. Not again. The pain disappeared almost immediately, leaving behind a cold ache beneath her skin. Darius moved toward her the moment she exited the arena tunnels. “You’re bleeding.” Kael looked down. Blood stained the sleeve covering her left hand. Her knuckles split open during the fight. “I noticed.” Darius frowned. “That rogue should not have lasted that long against you.” “He fought desperately.” “He fought like someone trying to provoke you.” Kael glanced toward him sharply. Darius lowered his voice. “People are talking again.” “They always talk.” “Not like this.” Kael kept walking through the palace corridors without slowing. Torchlight reflected against dark marble walls while royal guards immediately stepped aside at her approach. Nobody met her eyes. Nobody ever did. “The Sacred Moon Rite is close,” Darius continued carefully. “The rival territories are growing restless. If the Council senses weakness now—” “I did not ask for political reports.” Darius fell silent immediately. Guilt hit Kael the moment she heard the sharpness in her own voice. But she did not apologize. Apologies were dangerous inside the royal palace. Weakness was remembered here. They reached her private chambers moments later. Guards opened the massive silver doors before retreating outside immediately. Kael removed the ceremonial combat jacket from her shoulders and tossed it across a chair. Pain flared beneath her chest again. This time worse. Her breath caught sharply. Darius stepped forward instantly. “Kael?” “I said leave.” His jaw tightened. “You look pale.” “Leave.” For a second, he looked like he wanted to argue. Then he bowed slightly and walked toward the exit. But before leaving, he paused. “The Elders were watching you closely tonight.” Kael said nothing. Darius hesitated. “Be careful.” The doors shut behind him. Silence filled the room. Kael pressed her hand against her chest as another wave of pain spread beneath the Moon Mark burned into her skin. It felt wrong. Different. She walked toward the mirror near the fireplace and slowly pulled open the collar of her black training shirt. The silver crescent mark beneath her collarbone looked darker tonight. Almost glowing beneath her skin. Kael stared at it. Unease crawled through her stomach. The mark had not reacted like this since childhood. She remembered being twelve years old and waking up screaming while royal healers surrounded her bed. The Elders refused to explain what happened afterward. They never explained anything. A knock suddenly echoed at her door. Kael dropped her shirt immediately. “Enter.” A palace servant stepped inside carrying folded ceremonial robes. “The Lunar Council requests your presence tomorrow evening,” the servant said carefully. “Preparations for the Sacred Moon Rite will begin.” Kael nodded once. The servant hurried away quickly after setting the robes down. Nobody stayed near her longer than necessary. Kael exhaled slowly once the room emptied again. Then the pain returned. Violent. Her knees nearly gave out. “What the hell…” She grabbed the edge of the table beside her as heat spread beneath her skin. For one horrifying second, she felt something moving inside her chest. Alive. A whisper of panic rose inside her throat. No. Her wolf had always been silent. Empty. Broken. That was what the whispers said behind her back. Every Alpha heard their wolf eventually. Kael never had. Another sharp pulse exploded beneath the Moon Mark. The candles inside the room flickered violently. Kael froze. Then every flame suddenly went out. Darkness swallowed the room instantly. Her breathing became uneven. The silence felt wrong. Heavy. Like something unseen stood behind her. Kael slowly lifted her eyes toward the mirror across the room. And for one impossible second— She thought she saw silver eyes staring back at her that did not belong to her. A cold chill crawled down her spine. The voice came softly. Low. Female. Inside her head. “You are running out of time.” Kael sp un violently, claws partially extending from instinct. But the room was empty. Only darkness remained. Her chest rose sharply as her pulse pounded harder. No. Impossible. Her wolf did not speak. It never had. Then why did the voice sound so real? And why did it feel like it knew her?
