Once Ria hit the bottom she quickly darted to a wrecked car on the side pulling two samurai swords off her back which were held by a leather strap as she went when she reached the wreck she made a circle in the sand and jumped up on the roof of the car then she used one to cut her hand she then squeezed a fist to allow the blood to drip on the car .

The large group of flesh eaters which had assembled at the end of the compound sniffed the air and turned from the compound perimeter towards Ria hungry for the blood they smelt in the air.

Eric was watching from the top of the wall “ we have to help her “ he said .

Dylan standing next to him laughed “ she got this she won’t appreciate help “he responded .

Eric really didn’t like this bloke he was trying to tell himself it was his arrogance but he knew deep down it was more about how he looked at Ria.

He had the same expression on his face that Eric knew he had .

Eric quickly dropped his thoughts and focused on events unfolding within minutes the flesh eaters reached her and all that could be seen was Rias sword slicing and dicing she was amazing she moved with such grace but within minutes she had taken down at least 40 flesh eaters maybe more Ria stood triumphantly on top the bundle of bodies .

She Whistled and within in seconds a group exited the main gate and started stacking the bodies up in a pile ready for burning Eric guessed as he watched from the wall as they stacked the bodies up in a pile at the far side .

Ria stayed alert observing all areas until the fire was lit and the people back inside the walls .

Instead of using the gate Ria started her assent back up the wall and jumped the top with a grin on her face .

“ Job done now get that breach sorted “ she ordered Dylan with a nod to everyone and a nod to her he strided off .

Glancing back once at Eric .

What is it with people glancing back at me today Eric thought shaking his head .

“You ok ?” Bill asked .

“Five by five “ she responded .

“You should of let us help “

“ I can’t risk others , it’s my job to protect and don’t fret old man this is what I do best violence “ she grinned .

Eric was fixated on her eyes again as he realised Ria hadn’t Put her glasses back on .

She caught his gaze they locked eyes again for what seemed ages but was really just seconds then she broke the gaze and addressed bill “ So what do you think ?“ she asked him .

“It’s amazing here “he said

“ There is one thing I’m missing “ Ria stated .

Bill looked confused “ what’s that ?“

“ A sheriff “ she said smiling “ I’m no law enforcer I’m better at breaking the law than enforcing it I need a sheriff and as if by a miracle I come across you ,bring your people here” she said .

Bill looked at Eric who was still staring at Ria “ Eric “ he said Eric quickly snapped back to the conversation “ what do you think ?” Bill asked .

“ I think it needs to be discussed with our people “ Eric responded .

Ria reached over the side where she stood and pulled two radios out “ these are solar powered keep one in the sun charging keep one on you if you need me then use channel 9 I will hear you . Talk to your people and let us know what you think “ Ria said .

“Or if you need help I’m here “ she said .

Bill looked at the sky” we better get back it’s getting dark “ Bill said Ria nodded .

They walked back to the truck together .

“ There’s some supplies in the truck for your people she said gesturing to the back with her hand .

Bill smiled “ thank you” and reached in for an embrace then she looked at Eric his heart was beating fast what the hell was wrong with me now he thought.

Ria held out her hand in a biker handshakes he responded as soon as there hands grasped it was like electricity they both jumped back Ria looked flustered and Eric felt all these feelings stirring he really didn’t want growing again he quickly nodded at her released her hand and got in the truck .

“ Laters Bill “ she said

“ Laters red neck “

God why did she call him that Eric thought rolling his eyes .

Bill jumped in the driver seat and the gates flung open and out they went back to their people Eric glanced in the mirror watched her standing following the truck leave and he wondered would he ever see her again he really hoped so .
