Liah's pov "Let me guess, there's a new hottie at school" I replied lazily "U got me sweetheart. This hottie is kinda different from the other ones. There's this mysterious vibes he gives off which makes him all the more attractive". "U are coming for the party tonight right?" Sophie asked "What party?" I asked. I didn't really know the party she was talking about. I think I am giving so much attention to my family problems than I'm giving to myself and my happiness. Although I must say I'm not a fan of parties. Sophie and I are the complete opposite of each other. She's the chirpy, carefree and extrovert one btw us while I'm more comfortable being alone most of the times unless the times when I'm with her. " Come on girl, do you even attend British high?" She exclaimed British high is the name of our school. It's one of the most prestigious schools in Norwalk. Well at least my parents didn't allow their negligence towards me to affect my academics. "Can you just tell me what party you are talking about?" I asked impatiently "Woah, hold on. Aren't you the same person who hates parties?" She asked and I rolled my eyes "Yeah but I really need to cool off a bit" I replied There was a moment of silence before she asked " There's something going on with you, isn't it?" "I'll tell you when I see you" I replied " Ok Brian is the one hosting the party. The party is at his house by 7pm. See you there?" She said " Alright. See you there." I replied I ended the call and stood up and went to my wardrobe. I picked out a short wine colored off shoulder body hug gown, laid it on my bed and entered my bathroom to freshen up. Tonight's gonna be a long night. Dylan's pov 7pm at the party.. "Dude don't just sit there. Have some fun." A blonde hair guy in the midst of some girls shouted at me. I just smiled at him and raised my glass of wine to him. I'm not really a fan of parties but I needed to make friends. Being a newbie sucks but I have no choice since my former school is so far from our new home. My family and I just relocated a week ago from Los Angeles to Norwalk. I must say I miss my former school and friends. I also miss my ex girlfriend Nelly but we broke up before we relocated. She said she couldn't cope with the distance and I can't force her you know. I just resumed at British high today and I heard my class was holding a party. I didn't want to be the odd one out and I could also use the opportunity to make some friends. So here I am sitting at a corner, sipping my wine as slowly as ever while avoiding the annoying girls trying to flirt with me. And fortunately, just staring at them coldly did the job. And just then, two gorgeous ladies came right in, chatting and laughing. My eyes got fixed on the taller one with black hair and big round blue eyes. I don't really know what's happening right here or what's actually attracting me to her, I don't know if it's her sexy curves, beautiful eyes, I don't know if it's her bewitching smile, all I f*****g know is that she got my attention all right. And just like that something finally piqued my interest. Liah's pov "Can you now tell me what's going on with you?" Sophie asked me " It's my parents again. I don't know what I did to them. I should at least an opinion on whatever is happening in my life." I said dejectedly "It's okay baby girl. If you don't want to talk about it, I understand" Sophie hugged me and said. The gentle strokes of her hand on my back consoling me so much that I almost cried. "No I will tell you. You know that guy that you met in my house the other day?" I asked her and I pulled away from the hug " You mean that old man" she said with a distorted expression " Yeah, but he's not really old you know. He actually came for my hand in marriage....." "What????" She screamed cutting me off " Hey lower ur voice, will you?" I told her when I noticed our classmates staring at us. " Don't tell me that. And don't tell me your parents accepted?" Sophia asked " Yeah of course they didn't" I replied sarcastically. " My parents disappointed me real time this time. They actually made me go out on a date with him and I just had to tell the man I'm not interested in him and will never get married to him. He informed my mom and I'm sure you can guess the rest" I narrated to her. " I'm really sorry babe, I ......" '"Why are you saying sorry, you didn't do anything to me and stop looking at me with pity, you know how much I hate that" I cut her off. I really hate it when people look at me with pity. "Blah blah blah. Whatever" She rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue at me. I couldn't help bursting into laughter. Just then " Hello beautiful" I turned around to stare into the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. His good-looking face making me realize how much I fall short in beauty compared to him.
