Can I have this dance?

Liah's pov

I really can't remember the last time I admired a man's physical appearance but today I can honestly say that this dude got my attention alright.

What am I thinking, he can't really be talking to me. I'm sure it's Sophie. I turned to Sophie expecting her to reply him. The look on her face when I turned to her was a sight to behold. I'm sure she didn't expect him to talk to her.

"Well are you gonna keep ignoring me?" he asked looking at me. I looked at him shocked.

Did I hear him wrongly or am I just thinking ahead of myself but he's looking at me. Of course he's referring to me. I felt like I couldn't breathe with my heart ramming against my ribcage.

'Come on Liah, say something. Stop staring like a fool' I said to myself

"Are you talking to me?" I asked to confirm my thoughts though I know I was sounding foolish right now but I can't be blamed you know.

He chuckled at my question revealing a fine set of white teeth. Gosh, this guy is just perfection

"No, I'm talking to the wall" he replied sarcastically

I rolled my eyes at his sarcasm.

" Whatever. So how may I help you?" I asked him. I almost slapped myself at my choice of words. well who cares

He raised his brows at my question with that smirk still on his face.

Dylan's pov

I stared at the pretty angel in front of me. Her beautiful blue eyes drowning me in them. Well her choice of words aren't so encouraging but would it sound funny if I said it added to her charm.

I almost burst out laughing at her look of shock when I first spoke to her.

"Whatever. So how may I help you?" She asked me.

I ignored her rude tone and introduced myself.

"My name is Dylan. What's yours?" I asked. I noticed the other girl staring at me with pure admiration and it kind of irritated me. Well I should just focus on this blue-eyed lady.

"I don't feel like telling you my name neither am I interested in knowing yours. If you don't have anything reasonable to say then please excuse me" She said

I stared at her dumbfounded. This is the first time a girl have spoken to me like this. I am used to girls fawning over me but this girl is different.

I looked at her walking away. I didn't want to look stupid by trying to stop her so I just let her. I expected her friend to follow her but she kept on standing in front of me. Well I just have to leave if she doesn't want to. I nodded at her and turned to leave.

"Wait!!" I heard her voice. I turned to her with an indifferent look on my face

"Yes?" I asked uninterested in whatever she had to say.

"Um..... um...."

"What is it?" I cut her off impatiently

"My name is Sophie Cranes. Can we be friends?" She stretched her hand forward for a handshake. I just stared at her hand before staring back at her face.

I can't deny that she's a pretty one but her friend has piqued my interest already.

"Let's keep it formal, yeah?" I said and turned, walking away without looking back.

I really need an opportunity to speak with my new friend. Lol

Sophie's pov

I stared at Dylan as he walked away. I don't understand what just happened. Did he just reject my request for friendship. Like seriously.

This have never happened before.

When he said 'hello beautiful' I honestly thought he was talking to me. Why was he talking to Liah instead of me. I'm the one who always got the attention so what happened this time?

I hate to admit it but I feel jealous towards Liah for the first time in our eight years of Friendship.

No no no. What am I thinking?

Liah's my best friend. I shouldn't be thinking like this.

Besides Liah didn't show any sign of interest to him. Where did she go to by the way? Let me find her.

Liah's pov

I couldn't stop thinking about what just happened. Did he actually ask for my name or was I just imagining things. And what did I say to him,that I don't feel like knowing his name.

Oh Liah, today is the day I mark you a big liar. Well it's fine. It's not as if anything good would come out of him knowing my name.

"Hello beautiful ladies and handsome gentlemen" I turned to see who was making the announcement. It was Brian,my classmate.

Brian is a good-looking rich Playboy. He was handsome, fun, charming but a philanderer.

I think it's right to say he's the male version of my friend Sophie. Lol

Speaking of Sophie, where is she. I looked around the club and finally saw her walking towards me.

She held my hand and smiled at me when she reached where I was.

"Today is that particular day I await every year. Today is a really happy day for me and I want to share it with you my friends and classmates. If would please me if you all would enjoy yourself, party and dance like never before, eat and drink to your satisfaction. Don't worry, if I'm not able to pay the bill I'm sure you my beloved friends would help me out right?" Brian joked

We all burst out laughing....

"Now ladies and gentlemen, friends and classmates, look around and grab the hand of the one your heart desires. Dance, dance to your satisfaction. Let the party begin" He announced

And on the conclusion of his speech, the music started playing and everyone interested in dancing started dancing, either with a partner or alone.

I turned to Sophie to ask her if she wants to dance but actually saw her looking around as if looking for someone

"Who are you looking for?" I asked her

"Oh no one" she said and smiled at me. Just then we heard someone whistling behind us. We turned around to see Chris, another classmate of ours.

"If it isn't the most beautiful girls I laid my eyes on today. You are looking delicious babies." He said and we rolled our eyes at his flirting.

"If it isn't the annoying Chris" I said

"hahaha. Sophie sweetheart dance with me will you?" he asked Sophie

"My pleasure" Sophie replied and I rolled my eyes at them. I watched them walk to the dance floor hand in hand and couldn't help remembering the first guy I met today. What was his name again?

Dylan.

Dylan that name...

"Can I have this dance sweetheart?" I heard a deep voice from behind me. I turned to find the owner of that voice and there he was, the guy that have been in my mind since I met him.
