Unable to contain my excitement, I woke up earlier than usual, even before my alarm had a chance to buzz. With a spring in my step, I headed straight to the kitchen, determined to start the day off right with a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs. Devouring my meal, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building within me.
Once I finished eating, I quickly made my way back to my room to get dressed. The thought of my new job consumed my mind, making it impossible to focus on anything else. I knew I had to share this exhilarating news with my mom and my friend, Emily.
With my phone in hand, I dialed my mom's number, eagerly waiting for her to pick up. As I paced around the kitchen, a mix of excitement and nervousness filled the air. Finally, the familiar voice of my mom greeted me through the phone.
"Hey Mom, remember The friend I told you about, Emily? Well, she convinced me to apply for a job as a personal assistant, and guess what? I got it!" I exclaimed, barely able to contain my excitement.
There was a brief pause on the other end of the line as my mom processed the information. "Oh,Isabel ! That's fantastic news! I'm so proud of you," she exclaimed, her voice filled with joy and pride.
I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. My mom's unwavering support and enthusiasm always meant the world to me. After chatting with her for a few more minutes, sharing the details of the job and how it all came about, I ended the call with a heart full of gratitude.
Eager to share my good news with Emily, I quickly dialed her number. As I waited for her to pick up, excitement bubbled up inside me. Finally, her voice came through the line, and I wasted no time in blurting out the news.
"Emily, guess what?! I got the job as a personal assistant that you suggested! I couldn't have done it without you," I exclaimed, my voice filled with admiration and gratitude.
There was a moment of silence on the other end before Emily squealed with delight. "Isabel , that's incredible! I always believed in you! You're going to be an amazing personal assistant. I'm so proud to have been a part of your journey!"
Hearing Emily's words warmed my heart, and I knew I had a wonderful friend by my side. We talked for a while, sharing our excitement and discussing the upcoming adventure that awaited me in my new role.

~NATHAN~
As I nestled in bed, lost in my own thoughts, the sudden ring of my phone interrupted my solitude. Annoyed, I glanced at the caller ID to discover it was Ryan. "You never fail to have impeccable timing," I muttered sarcastically, unable to hide the hint of exasperation in my voice.
Ryan chuckled on the other end of the line, seemingly unfazed by my snarky tone. "I've been told," he replied, his amusement evident. It would appear that he either didn't notice or chose to disregard my sarcasm.
With a curious mix of annoyance and curiosity, I couldn't help but ask, "What is it, Ryan?"
He took a moment and then let out a small laugh. "Nothing, Nathan. I just miss you," Ryan admitted, his voice overflowing with sincerity.
A sigh escaped my lips as I groaned, unable to fully hide my exasperation. "What do you want,Ryan?" I questioned, feeling a tinge of guilt for not being more receptive.
To my surprise, Ryan's tone became a little more serious. "Seriously, Nathan, I miss our hangouts. When was the last time we spent time together? I understand work is important, but I'm your friend too. Please make time for me."
His words hit me like a ton of bricks. Leave it to Ryan to pinpoint the exact thing I had been neglecting. In my pursuit of career goals, I hadn't realized how much I had distanced myself from the people who mattered to me.
A sense of regret washed over me as I realized the impact my actions had on our friendship. "You're right, Ryan. I've been so caught up in work that I've lost sight of what's truly important. I miss you too, and I promise to make more time for us."
There was a brief silence on the line before Ryan finally spoke, his voice filled with warmth. "Thank you, Nathan. That's all I wanted to hear."
As we said our goodbyes, the weight of our conversation settled upon me. I couldn't deny the importance of maintaining meaningful connections and nurturing the bonds with those closest to me. Ryan, with his gentle reminder, had jolted me out of my tunnel vision, pushing me to prioritize what truly mattered.
Thoughts of Clara's impending replacement danced in my mind, leaving me with a sense of uneasiness. Clara had been such a wonderful colleague and friend, and the idea of having to adjust to a new assistant left me feeling apprehensive as I succumb to sleep.
