SHADOWS DON'T BLEED

The rain pours washing away today's exhaustion.Nyla Voss stands at the edge of the rooftop,eyes focused on the flickering light of the window adjacent to the rooftop.All she knows is that a man must die tonight.She watches as the silhouette walks across the room unaware of the dangers lurking across the tiny window.She stays alert as she awaits the best time to strike.Within 10 minutes,the light go off and she knows that time has come.She walks to the elevator that leads to the basement,hands on the cold handle of a sharp knife,she crosses the streets slowly but careful so as not to raise suspicion.She pushes the main door of the building and takes the stairs up to the 5th floor,where her target sleeps peacefully.She picks the lock as Burke had taught her.Within 2 minutes she is standing on the living room of that tiny apartment.She heads to the bedroom and pushes the door open,she spots the target sleeping safely tucked under the sheets.With precision,she draws the knife,slicing the man's throat with great skills.The poor man manages to open the eyes and spots her,but eyes becomes lifeless within minutes.Nyla Voss' today's work has been done.She leaves the apartment,down the stairs and out of the building and vanishes into the streets. Nyla Voss has been doing this work for the last 6 years.She is currently 26 years.She has been training for 10 years.Ever since her parents died in a car crash,Burke(the head of The Black Veil Organization)had taken her in at 10 years old.She had joined the black veil organization and started training afterwards.Her work name(Black Lily)she had acquired due to her elegance during killing. When she got to her apartment at Crownridge neighborhood,her phones rings,she answers it and confirmed that the work is done.250000$ is credited to her account.That was one of the best nights for her. in the Hale mansion Lucien was in his room preparing to go for dinner.He had just came back from an important meeting.The Hale group was expanding to Europe and today was the first meeting on the matter.His two brothers,Damien an Matt were both the general managers at Hale corporations.His uncle Marcus was the finance manager,His father is the chair of the Hale group and Lucien was the CEO.Lucien's father Jacob had inherited the company from his father 25 years ago. Lucien walks downstairs where everyone is having dinner.He sits in his chair next to his mother.His brothers both sits of the left side of the table next to his uncle.The Hale family seems peaceful but there is internal conflicts. The Hale family eat their dinner silently,each one of them occupying different thoughts. In Nylas apartment Nyla Voss is woken up by a call.It is 9 am.She is annoyed by the call. Who dares to wake her up from her sweet sleep.She glaced at the caller id and she jolts wide awake,the caller id reads Dad.Its Burke calling ready to assign her a new task."Hello,Black Lily,"Burke's course voice is head from the other side of the phone,"Hello,boss,"she answers."We need to talk,"Burke urges her."ok boss,".After the call ,Nyla prepares to go meet with the boss.She is dressed in a black baggy jeans,black top and black boots.They meet at the cafe around the corner.When Burke sees her,he can't help but feel a little proud.They shake hands and they both orders black coffee with no sugar,a drink they are used to.Burkes hand her a card with the name written on it,"Lucien Hales,is the target,"Burke tells her.She takes the card and puts it in her jeans pocket."But there is a catch,"Burke continues,"you are going to apply for work at Hales corporation as an intern,Lucien is a smart man and you need to be careful around him," "don't worry ,dad,"Nyla assures Burke.Burke also explains that Nyla had to act innocent in order to get more close to Lucien,as he is a ruthless man when he realizes someone betrayal. Nyla says goodbye to her father and she goes back to her apartment.Inside her apartment,she starts thinking on how she can get on the good side of Lucien as an intern and earn his trust.She starts doing research on him online,she discovered that he has two brothers and an uncle who works at the same company.She also discovers that a while back, someone had tried to assassinate Lucien but they had not succeeded.Lucien had suffered a gun wood on his left ribs,but it was nonfatal.She also discovers that due to that incident,Lucien had always have heavy security surrounding him to avoid another attempted assassination.Nyla starts to plot on how she will handle the interview which is held on next Monday.She still had the weekend to herself. On the day of interview Nyla wakes up at 6 in the morning.The interview is supposed to be at 8 am,she takes a shower,put on a pants suit,a bag full of essentials she will need and her wallet.She steps to the streets and heads towards the bus station.She wishes she had a car.The bus arrives and she enteres,pays and finds a window seat where she can keep to herself.She is beginning a new life,a life she had never lived,a life where she has to represss her abilities in order to fit in. The bus takes 30 minutes.She arrives at 7:50am,good time as she has 10 minutes to relax and recollect herself.It comes to the time of interview,the interviewees calls her name and she fixes her face,she puts on a smile that feels forced.She has never had to fake a smile that her facial muscles hurt.After 30 minutes of faking a smile inside ,her interview is over.All she wants is to go back home and take a long nap.She goes home and waits for the results. Lucien's POV: As I leave my house,I can't help but suspect there is someone out to get me.My trusted assistant had come to pick me at my door.I feel paranoid also in my home I am thinking of renting an apartment and leave this toxic house.As I suspect brothers and my uncle.My security team which I trust escort me to my car and opens the door for me.I have even bullet proofed my car,as the last time I was shot,I was in my car.I remember today I have an interview with an intern which was recommended by one of my business associate.I look through her profile,she is a 5'5 woman who seems to be good with her work.When I get to the company,I finds already the interview had happened,bummer,as I needed to evaluate the intern well before I hire her. Nyla's POV As I opened my apartment door,I can't help but feel frustrated and disappointed.I really wanted to meet Lucien Hales.I would like to interact with him to know what kind of a man he is and why I have to kill him.I have also to learn how to approach and get close to him.This might be the hardest job I have ever had in my 6 years experience.
