Vera's POV
“She went nuts, that's what happened.” I heard a man's voice erupt angrily. As I opened my eyes, I found myself in an unfamiliar room. Fear immediately gripped me and I'm up before I even considered the gruesome pain in my head.
Shit! I stumbled backwards, holding my head, the pain coursed harder for a moment, that strange second everything went blank in my eyes until I was back to normal again.
Where am I? I looked around, the room is everything but mine, it's beautiful and large with spherical pendant lights descending from the ceiling, and a door-to-floor window that provides a serene view of the clean field outside. The voices I heard came again, “Calm down, Rick. You are both alive. You are standing here talking to me, aren't you?”
