Chapter Five: The Discovery The next punch was ruthless, straight to the sternum, and shattered a few bones, causing the receiver to pass out. The darkly lit room smelled of blood and a dead body. The reinforced steel walls ensured that whatever happened in the room stayed in the room. A towing chain hung down from the roof, ending on the cuffed hands of a middle-aged woman, blonde-haired, and a face that had been beaten to an unrecognizable pulp. It was hard to tell whether she was Asian or American, but her accent suggested she was Japanese by birth. What she was doing, hanging loosely from the back of Diamond Pack’s dreaded chains of horror, was the least of anyone’s worries. Two nights ago, her bite mark had been the deepest on his neck before he knocked her out. But he could not survive the bite marks. They had cut too deep, and he had lost a lot of blood already trying to overpower her. This almost lifeless woman, hanging from the torture chains, was Stella Quinn, an assassin rogue wolf, and the one who bit that took out Bradd Justin two nights ago. The torture guy splashed a bucket of cold water on her lifeless hanging body, jerking her back to consciousness. She growled, stretching and wriggling her body in all directions that the chains would let her. She just needed to get a good shot at any of his veins so he’d have a clearer picture of all Justin went through before he died. “Is that all you’ve got?” She asked, mocking the punch even though it broke a few ribs. “You could pass for a lady you know. Such weak punches,” She continued The tortured man, infuriated, clenching his teeth, made to give her a deadlier one. “Stop!” Phil’s voice saved the rogue criminal. “You don’t want to kill her before we get what we need from her. Do you?” Phil said, making his way through the dried-up skeletons scattered around the torture house. The torture guy eased up on the punch. “Not quite, my Lord” “Tell me, what have we gotten so far from her” Phil asked “She is a difficult one, my lord. She has refused to give any information and rather prefers to make sarcasm out of every question.” The torture guy answered. “I’ll take it from here now, You can leave us,” Phil said. When Phil was sure that the torture guy was out of the building, he pressed the eject button, removing the chain’s hook from the suspended handle that held the rogue wolf up a few meters in the air. Using his wolf abilities, he got to her in time to prevent her from landing with her face on the floor. After he had gotten her into a comfortable sitting position, he brought a towel soaked in warm water and disinfectant. “I’m so sorry for how they’ve had to make you suffer so much. This was not your fault, and for that, I apologize,” Phil said, wiping every open sore on her face as she winced in pain from the biting effect of disinfectant on the sore. Phil’s voice was calm and did not give away whatever he had, planned out for this rogue. He continued wiping gently and talking. “You see, your pack brought in the element of surprise at the attack two nights ago. For that, I’ll give you your credits.” “If you think an act of kindness would get me to talk, then you’re making a big mistake and wasting your time. You should just proceed with your punches. Let’s see if the famous Black Diamond pack still has strong wolves,” Stella said; her speech filled with contempt. “She’s a brave wolf too, who isn’t afraid of death. I’ll give you extra credit for your courage.” Phil said. “But you see, if I wanted to come have a field day punching the crap outta you, I didn’t have to get my hands dirty with warm water and your blood.” “So what do you want” She answered. “Well, I want a lot of things,” Phil said, still helping her care for the sores around her face. She winced a little more now because the disinfectant effects were biting deeper into the fresh sores. Especially the ones around her eyelid and lips. “To start with, I want you to be free of this pain soon,” Phil said, letting a soothing smile spread open the left side of his lips. Stella knew he was lying, but his calm demeanor made it hard to see what his original intentions were. Phil was a cold-hearted monster, and he had Something bad was planned for her. “What else do you want?” “Since you asked nicely, I want to know who ordered the assassination, what pack you have come from, and why you took out my chief security officer. Lastly, I want to know how you wish to die.” Phil said. The last statement had given up his true intentions. He was going to kill her after all. She just didn’t know how. By now, the wolfsbane in the towel had gotten into her system enough through the open sores, and she was beginning to feel dizzy. “What have you done to me?” She was beginning to feel the rapid movement of the wolfbane. It felt like plugging and unplugging two high-powered sockets that gave off charges with every action done” “You have wolfbane in your system. Cheteroil six. The Chetroil Six is known for its slow action. It will kill every cell in your body and shut down the systems within you slowly until it gets to your brain. But you can save yourself,” Phil said. Her left leg suddenly went cold, and she could no longer feel it. The Cheteroil six, just like Phil had said, was beginning its action from her legs. It had destroyed every nerve ending there, stopping blood flow and motor neuron control of the leg. “The answer you seek resides in the Southern moon block. But that’s all you can ever know..”
