Vera had crossed the line this time around, she was quite fortunate that I had decided to keep away from messing my hands with other people's blood, or else she'd be my next victim. After the turn of things between her and me, I didn't want to doubt that there could still be a forthcoming tension between her and Claudia.
Or maybe I shouldn't expect any. That stupid Claudia was sly. How I had hoped she'd retaliate. Other things bothered me too, for example, the fact that Phil might have a lead on Drew's death.
I was about to find out. Phil's office was the only place I could get answers. It would have been better and faster if I could have gotten answers from his beta or that stupid guard, Jacob. Unfortunately, they seemed to dislike me and I loathed them too.
