Chapter 29 – The Temple of Kota
Jerry approached the front steps of the Temple of Kota, rifle shouldered and ready to fire. He swept it from side to side, looking for enemy combatants, but none appeared. The temple grounds were beautifully manicured grassy spaces, with ornamental trees and ponds, and the area was mostly deserted. The few Reliants they had encountered so far were unarmed and nonviolent. They wore white robes, indicating their position as... well, something religious. Priests, acolytes, monks... Jerry wasn't quite sure. In any event, they had the look of clergy, not warriors. They gave the trio—and Kajora in particular—shocked and disapproving looks before turning and scurrying away.
