Chapter 28 – The Bridge is Blocked “Help me up, Private,” Lieutenant Foster said, holding out his hand. Brooks grabbed him and helped him to his feet. Foster winced; his ankle wasn't cooperating at all. He put a hand on the wall to steady himself and looked at Brooks. “Any news?” “Not that I know of, sir.” Foster half-limped, half-hopped over to the nearest window. One of his men stood beside it, keeping watch. Foster peered out to see the scene for himself. It was morning, and the daylight revealed that the Reliants had been busy during the night.
