Chapter 27 – Risk and Reward
Shariel hadn't slept well, leaving her grumpy, and the morning's news hadn't helped. Apparently, all sorts of crazy things had happened the previous day, and even into the night, leaving the whole Chakros valley in turmoil. Now she was in Clan Shalaren's hotel's dining room, along with the dignitaries from the other clans, and she watched the scene with dismay. The Felid delegates were preparing to leave the hotel and travel to the spaceport. They had already checked out of their rooms and packed their bags. They were in the dining room now to take advantage of their last chance to eat and talk politics with one another, two things Felid politicians never seemed to tire of.
