Chapter 40 – The Barn Jerry lay back in the hay and sighed. It felt great, like nature's own mattress. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, enjoying the scent. It reminded him of the farms back home. Night had fallen, and the only light was from a small electric lamp from Kajora's pack. The barn's hayloft was dark and cozy, and Jerry knew it wouldn't be long before he dozed off. “Go ahead and try to get some rest, Sergeant,” Kajora said, sitting cross-legged nearby and apparently reading his mind. “You've had a tough couple of days.
