Sarah stared at Joseph, too numb to react. She shook her head, refusing to believe.
“We can’t let him die!” she insisted. “What can we do?”
“He needs the chance to absorb energy to replace what he’s lost. If it was daytime I’d say get him out in the sunlight. Now… I don’t know.”
“We can’t just leave him here to die!”
“I know. Maybe we’ll take him outside anyway. It can’t do any harm.”
