Chapter Six Jay's POV "Tonight was better than I expected it to be." I whispered to myself as I jumped into my mom's car. "I know right" Rachael giggled, jumping in right after me. "God, I sometimes hate werewolf hearing." I muttered annoyed. "I heard that." "I know you did" I answered in an annoying high pitched tone. Mom seemed to be starring out the window, she hadn't even started the car. I looked out the window only to see Scarlett saying goodbye to Amanda and her parents. "That's my mate" I pointed to Scarlett and mom's eyes widen. "Really? That's great" mom replied weirdly. I starred at her questioningly "What's wrong mom?" She ripped her gaze away from my mate and smiled "Nothing, I was just thinking about how cute your pups are going to come out." I could feel my face getting redder by the second "Mom, it's WAY too early to be thinking about that." "Awww Jacey’s getting red, I've never seen you get so red" she reached out her hands to pinch my cheeks but I swatted her away. Mom started the car, her loud laughs filled the car. “You must really like this girl”. "Of course I do, we're mates. She's destined to be with me" I mumbled. "Gosh who knew that you were such a romantic guy" Rachael giggled. I rolled my eyes and focused my attention on mom. She seemed nervous and angry, which I didn't understand why. I had found my mate this was a time to celebrate. "Mom are you sure that you’re okay?" "Yeah of course darling, I'm just really tired. That's all." Once we got to the hotel, mom hurriedly ran to our room. She calmed herself a bit before she ran in and tackled dad to the bed. "Whoa, sweetie I also missed you but this is too much" my dad laughed, in his deep, old voice. "Kids can you guys wait outside, please." Me and Rachael turned to stare at each other but nodded. They closed the door but we pressed our ears against the wooden door. "What this all about" I could hear the confusion rising in my dad's voice. "Well it’s about Jay's mate, S-she's a were-werecat." she whispered but I could hear her loud and clear.
