Cleaning up

*Luca* I let Micah sleep most of the morning before deciding it's time for a lesson. I enter the guest room and say, "Wake up, Micah, we need to talk." Micah just rolls over, mumbling something I can't quite make out, but I'm pretty sure it's not anything nice. "Forget it, Micah, you need a serious kick in the ass before you ruin everything for yourself, so get up." I shake his shoulder, not being gentle. Micah grunts, annoyed, and pulls away. "Leave me alone, Luca. I'm not talking to you. If you have forgotten, I'm angry with you. Also I am the Alpha, you should do as I say.” "Well, then we are doing this the hard way, Micah." I grab him and drag him into the bathroom, pushing him into the shower and turning on the cold water. Micah splutters and fights to get up, waving his arms pathetically. "What the hell, Luca? Why am I here, by the way?" "You are here because Amber called me last night when she came home and found your drunk ass sleeping on her bed. What on earth were you thinking, Micah?" I glare at him. Micah slides down to the floor, hiding his face in his hands, ignoring the cold water soaking him. "Oh, f**k. Luke called and told me I was pretty much done for, and I might have tried to drown my sorrows a bit. I was thinking of Amber. s**t! I didn't even realize I went to her place." "Get cleaned up, Micah. There is everything you need in the cupboard. And there are fresh clothes in the bedroom. Then come downstairs, and we will talk, okay?" I look at my best friend, my Alpha. Micah nods and gets up. "Thank you, Luca. I don't deserve your help, so thank you for doing this." "Wait to thank me until I'm done with your sorry ass, but you are welcome." I smile and leave the bathroom. *Micah* I turn on the warm water, and it quickly starts to soothe my sore body. My head still throbs, and I feel like the biggest i***t ever. Now I have truly messed up. If Amber has seen me like this, she will definitely never take me back. I wash and shave, realizing I need a haircut too as it starts to curl, but that will have to wait. I walk into the bedroom and pull on boxers, sweatpants, and a T-shirt. I suddenly realize how much weight I have lost when I have to tie the pants tightly to keep them from sliding down. I then head downstairs to find Luca in the kitchen. "Sit down, Micah, you need to eat. You look like you haven't had a decent meal for weeks." "Well, I guess I haven't unless whisky counts." I sigh and sit down. Luca just shakes his head and puts a plate of eggs, beans, and bacon in front of me. He brings me a cup of tea, a bottle of water, and some painkillers. I swallow the pills with half the bottle of water. "Thanks." "I know you're angry with me, Micah, and I'm actually sorry about what happened. I didn't realize you had feelings for her. I thought you were just playing her like the other women, and I hated that," Luca says. I look up from my food. "I should have told you, and I should have realized you had feelings for her as well. So, I guess I'm sorry too." Luca smiles; we don't need to say anything else about that. We have been friends for a long time, and we both know we have forgiven each other. After all he is my beta. "So I guess you and Amber made up since she called you. Are you two... well, more than friends?" I keep my eyes on my food, not wanting to be angry if they are. I have blown my own chance. Luca huffs lightly. "No, we are not, not in any way. She made it very clear that we are never going to be anything but friends, no more benefits." "I guess I'm kind of sorry for you, but I can't help being a little relieved," I say with an apologetic smile. Luca chuckles. "It's fine, Micah. I still love her and always will, but I know she has changed. We are not so compatible anymore; we aren't meant to be more than friends." "Unfortunately, she hates me, and now she has seen me at my worst... I will never get her back now," I say, feeling my heart crumble. Luca sighs. "I'm not sure you deserve my help with the way you have been acting lately. You are a bloody i***t, and She would be right to stay away from you, but the poor girl is deeply in love with you for some unimaginable reason." "She is? Are you sure?" I look up, feeling hope bloom as my eyes regain a bit of sparkle. He stares at me, confirming the truth. "Yes, she is, Micah, and she's miserable as well, but admittedly handling it better than you." "And I'm going to help you, Micah, but by the Goddess, you are going to shape up and get yourself and the pack back on track. She deserves a real man, not this pathetic excuse," Luca says harshly. I nod, knowing I have to get myself together for my own sake and for my pack and friends. "I know, Luca, I know, but I just don't know if it's possible to save my position as Alpha." "We will get you Amber back first, get you on the right track, and then hope the pack will come along too. Luke has to work some of that magic," Luca says. I have emptied my plate. "But how? She won't come anywhere near me, she won't answer my calls or messages." "Well, I happen to know she will be at my premiere tonight, as she is my date. But you have to trust me, Micah... you won't get Amber back by begging her, you have to... well, convince her," Luca says. I look confused. "Convince her? You mean like giving her no choice or what?" "How was she when you were with her? What do you think will make her give in? You begging on your knees or you ordering her to stop acting stupid? Before you, I would have said option one, but not anymore," Luca shrugs. I bite my lip, wondering if this could work. What if Luca is wrong? What if she still hates me? Then trying to force her could be the last straw, ruining everything, but I have to take that chance.
