CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE The next morning, I got to my office early. I left the door open and made coffee. I sat at my desk and went through the mail that the postal guy had dropped through the slot the past few days. It was bills mostly. The rest was junk mail. I was reading today’s Drabble in the Times comics section when Sims came into my office. I folded the paper and put it down. “Ever notice the comics aren’t nearly as good as they were when we were kids?” I said. “I don’t read the comics,” Sims said. “I don’t have time for funny.” “No wonder we get along so great,” I said. “Coffee?” “Sure, why not,” Sims said.
