Chapter 1
“Keep going,” Kylie whispered, her tone laced with lust. “Don't stop,” she breathed against Erik's muscular neck. “Are you sure?” The young man replied, pulling back a fraction of an inch. “Anyone could pull up-” In answer, Kylie tangled a hand in his short, curly brown hair and pulled his mouth onto hers. His full lips tasted so sweet. His hands on her body felt like the world's greatest massage, contact which sent shivers down her spine and between her legs. Her car was parked at a picnic site off an old country road near the town of Wallgrave, Ontario. They sat in the back seat pressed close together, and condensation beaded on the windows. They'd been on several dates over the past two weeks since meeting on Tinder, and Kylie wanted more. She wanted to feel his mouth elsewhere, wanted his bare skin against hers. She wanted him inside her. “Kylie,” Erik protested as she unbuckled his belt, “for real, anyone could-” “That’s the whole point,” she said with a demonic grin as his belt rattled open. “It's a rush. Don't you feel it?” Her hand went down the front of his pants to rub his growing c**k. “Don't you?” “I… yeah, that feels good,” Erik moaned, his brown eyes rolling back in his head. He was so handsome, like a modern day viking except clean shaven and with short hair. He had broad muscular shoulders, a trim athletic waist, and a certain natural grace to his movements that made Kylie wet at a moment's glance. And he had a big c**k, she was learning as it continued to grow harder in her hand. She'd been hoping for that, although it wouldn't have been a deal breaker… not with his jawline. Kylie could feel his arousal growing. She could feel it deep inside of her, a vibration that intensified with each passing second. It felt like laying on the ground next to the tracks as a train raced past. She loved it. “What's that?” Erik said, pulling back again. Only then did Kylie realize the vibration was not coming from inside her… it was something outside, making the ground vibrate, shaking the whole car… and they were nowhere near a railroad. “I don't kn-” She said. Suddenly a great cracking sound emanated from outside, and a brilliant light flashed from the woods a short distance away. “s**t, what was that?” Erik gasped, pulling away from her further. Kylie sighed and removed her hand from his pants. Why couldn't he relish the thought of getting caught, like she did? It was probably just some night-hikers in the woods with heavy duty flashlights, breaking up wood for a fire. Of course, that wouldn't explain the vibrations… “Let's just get out of here,” Kylie said, grabbing the door handle. “We can go back to my place.” “Wait,” Erik's hand landed on her shoulder and her heart fluttered. “Let me go first. Don't you think I should check it out?” “Without me?” Kylie giggled. “What, because this is a bad urban legend, and I'm a helpless woman? Please. Come on, we'll both go.” She opened the rear door of her Honda Civic and climbed out of the car. The other back door opened in the same instant, the car rocking on its shocks as Erik unfolded his tall, muscular frame. He hastily did up his belt, a shy look on his face. Kylie could feel the vibrations getting stronger as she locked the car and dropped the keys in the back pocket of her jeans. The ground shook almost perceptibly, rattling the soles of her feet. “Let's go then,” Erik said with a little waver in his voice. He took her hand and led the way down the woodchip covered forest path. They made their way by what little moonlight could slither between the branches. As they entered the cover of the trees the bright light flashed again, coming from a nearby clearing. “Hello?” Erik called in a confident voice. “Who's there?” They moved through the treeline into the clearing together. The light had come from the far side, where dense trees cast shadows too deep for their eyes to penetrate. “Should we-?” Kylie said hesitantly. Erik nodded and forged onward, still leading her by the hand. They stole halfway across the meadow, gaining momentum with every step. The light flicked on, so close now that its brilliance blinded them. The vibrations stopped. The pair looked at the ground, and then at each other, stupefied by the sudden change and the light. Kylie felt exposed, and not in a good way. She felt vulnerable and insecure, and tugged at Erik's hand. “Let's get out of here,” she whispered, but the young man's eyes had glazed over. He let go of her and strode steadily into the blinding light as if sleepwalking. Something behind it seemed to have called him in a voice that only he could hear. “Erik, where are you going?” Kylie cried, wringing her hands. For a time she could make out his silhouette, and then he disappeared into the all-consuming light. Kylie took a step forwards and stumbled. She did not want to follow him. She was afraid. A feeling of dread had pierced her heart like a knife. She felt paralyzed, and took a deep, steadying breath. She found her voice again and filled her lungs. “Erik!” She screamed. “Come back! What are you doing? What's over there?” For a time only silence answered her. The treetops and long grasses swayed in the breeze, and her loose blonde hair danced along. She hugged herself, feeling suddenly cold, and peered into the brilliance, hoping for any response. She cursed that hope a moment later as Erik's screams shattered the night.
