"Hi, you're an omega, right?" By the time Hannah is walking away from the party, she is still stopped by some interested Alphas, but she successfully manages to avoid them.
“Yes, look, I need to go to the bathroom, excuse me… Alphas…”
The brunette thought she was getting good at pretending she was content to be the Alphas' new favorite star, but once Hannah leaves their massive presence, she realizes she couldn't be happier.
It was a big deal everything that happened at this party today.
It was much better than she could ever have imagined, but the feeling Hannah woke up to was still there, a sense of urgency.
An anxiety.
As if something big was going to happen. And that still hasn't left her.
It was like something was coming.
Something epic.
Like planets aligning.
Or stars moving.
And that song she woke up to was still playing in her mind too.
She hummed the entire way, finding some chords to fit in it with her guitar.
“I will run to the dark side of the moon,
If that's what’s needed to have you again,
‘Cause to love me is just a blink once I get back my crown.”
A large full moon lit up the woods as she walks slowly and absently, singing to nature with a satisfied smile on her face. Feeling the freshness of the newly arrived night, the tranquility of the Earth filling the air…
Then she spots the cabin.
“Wow… This place… is not scary at all!” Hannah perks up, stopping playing to look around the house and realizes it was everything she had hoped for. Desert. No sign of anyone around. "Oh come on. It's just incredibly quiet, perfect peace, perfect for composing..." She concludes when she sees that it looks safe enough.
“‘Cause something about our glorious days,
always seemed to enchant me,
and I will chant about you and me.”
Hannah sings, smiling and dancing, as she climbs the small wooden stairs to the front porch. She tries to open the door carefully because it seems to be falling apart.
“Me and you…
Oh wow..."
The girl stops in the corner to exclaim in surprise.
It's all in shades of grey.
Some destroyed walls, wooden floors, dusty coating of forgotten furniture…
It was a place beautifully forgotten by time! With old-fashioned home accessories and that kind of long-lost silence.
The baddie looks around for a minute.
Some small insects, spider webs, maybe bats? But not many more things.
It's just a big entrance room connected to a living room and another small partition with a staircase and a dirty rack full of shelves.
She wouldn't dare go up there anyway, it's clearly falling apart.
But Hannah has her vision captured by an old divan in the living room, next to a broken moonlit window.
Oh, Hannah is thrilled at how beautiful this place is.
"So inspiring..." The girl mutters to herself as a few melodies run through her head.
She sits on the couch on a test to see how rotten it can be, hoping it doesn't fall off with her weight.
"Well, you look strong enough for such an old guy." Han talks to the dusty thing and sits on it.
“I can finish this song here, right Moon?” She asks to the heavenly light shining in the window and laughs.
“It was something like this, I think…”
The girl knew some parts she remembered from her dream even after waking up and it was disturbingly beautiful and special.
Something she had never heard before.
“Moon, Moon, if you give me your son,
I will sing with him forever. And more…
Oh uh, uh-uh.”
So she keeps working on it. Until she hears some noise at the front door.
“Oh, Hannah? Hannah!” Some bats fly and Hannah flinches at the unexpected scream and crackling sounds.
“How could I have been so distracted?” The cool girl didn't even notice Fernilia's aura approaching her. Despite being a small omega aura, she still berates herself for her distraction and stands up the second she hears her best friend's familiar, frightened voice. Hannah moves to the entrance hall. “Fer, is that you?”
The baddie comes around the old wall to see Fer lying on the floor with a funny face at the ceiling.
“Hush, Han… There are… BATS here!”
"Oh..." Hannah covers her mouth, but then makes a face too. “But you were the one who screamed!” She approaches Fer whispering harshly and helps her to her feet.
"I know! This place gives me the creeps... It was you singing, right?" Fer brushes her wild curls from her face, worried.
"Come on, Fer..." Hannah annoys herself by rolling her eyes as she dusts off her friend's jumpsuit skirt.
It's all denim with a small skirt and big metal buttons.
Fernilia wears an orange shirt underneath it, and although she has an omega body, it is a very soft and tinted black omega body.
"Don't get me wrong, it was really good, it's just that I've never heard you sing that song."
Hannah rolls her eyes and goes back to the couch next to the window.
“Could a ghost be that talented?” She smiles at her best friend as she sits down with her guitar.
“I heard that ghosts are very talented… Haven't you watched those scary ghost movies with pianos and stuff like that? They usually play the piano like professionals…”
“You don't even watch horror movies, Fer. I think you are confusing it with the classical music channel.”
Fer blinks blankly at her friend and tries not to laugh as she says, "I'm not."
Hannah also tries not to laugh, to no avail and they both break into a comradely chuckle, soon changing the subject. The musician's focus quickly returns to her fingers on the guitar.
“This is my new song. But hey Fer, why are you here alone, you said…”
"Really? It's your song!? I really love this song, Han… Tell me more about it!"
“Uh… Yeah… I know, it's cool, right? I've decided that I'm really planning on making that pop music album of mine! And then I can make sure something like today never happens again…” Hannah points in the direction of the party.
"Like what? They were really impressed with how good you are..."
“See, but that's what I'm talking about. I've been officially playing in this pack for over a year, I've participated in so many Pack events! And nobody knows I'm really good at it..."
“Only the Alpha. I think he's doing it to keep you busy at the most boring events, so you forget about this idea of becoming a gamma.”
“I don't want to become a gamma. I want to become a musician. Or maybe a popstar!”
“Yes… But it's a gamma’s profession, so it's more or less the same thing.”
Hannah shrugs uncomfortably.
"Fer... Do you want to hear it?"
“For sure!”
The brunette just smiles at her friend's excited response and starts strumming her guitar.
“She was there, standing,
at the beginning of time...
First time she saw you,
you were like the whole universe.
Moons’ magic fallen over us.
And in the middle of the silver flames, she sang:
Oh Moon, put him in my hand,
and I’ll stop the time for a whole hour,
during summer nights.
An eternal moment to sing,
about you and me..."
“Wow, this is great, why did you stop? Keep going!”
“Well, it’s not done yet, I just have this. I mean, and some other parts… but they all seem disconnected still, although I feel like they're all part of the same whole, you know?”
"I don't, but the song is dope.”
"Okay...thanks for calling me weird."
"But you are. And I also called the song dope…”
"Yea…"
"Han…this song doesn't seem to be about Luc, is it?"
They look at each other and the way the wordless answer is clear makes them laugh to themselves.
"It's not. I just woke up with it in the back of my mind. I'm even thinking about writing it in third person because I don't really know what it's about."
“You see, you have such a weird way of creating too. Everything is weird about you, Han, there's nowhere to run. But this is you, so think on the bright side, since you're weird and cool, you can make things just like you and they won't be anything like other things! Which means you're going to be a real pop star, Han! Write my words!”
“Oh, thank you, Fer! Yes, I will be a popstar, my besty! And you will help me, right?”
"Yes, so you won't forget me when you’re famous..."
“Of course not, my little chestnut. Come here."
Hannah hugs her bff sitting on the couch in front of her, but the guitar between them makes it difficult and crushes their bellies.
“Ouchh, baby.”
"Oh sorry." Hannah laughs and clumsily tries to put it aside, hitting them with it again and again. But after a few seconds of affection with Fer's omega softness, Hannah realizes something. “Wait, you still haven't told me why you're here. You told me you'd never set foot in this place, that you weren't that crazy yet… So what happened?”
“Oh Han… can I hear the other parts you have?” Fer takes Hannah's guitar beside them and pushes it back to her.. “I really loved this song, it has already become my favorite…”
Hannah interrupts Fernilia.
"Fer, tell me, what happened?"
"Han, your hair looks so cool in the moonlight, it's bright blue from here now..."
“Fernilia! It won't work again, stop changing the subject! What the hell happened for you to come here alone?”
"Well...you know that insanely huge black Alpha...who was grabbing Luc's collar before you distracted them?"
"Yeah, I guess. What's up with him? Did he threaten you again?
"No…"
"Did he bully you?"
"Not exactly... I think..."
“Was he mean to you?”
"Uh…"
"So what?!"
"Well...he asked me to be his girlfriend!"
“HUM?!”
"He said he liked me and stuff..."
“Oh… And now you're afraid he'll do something bad
all because you said no to him?”
“Uh… I didn't say no to him… He's an Alpha, Hannah! Do you think I'm THAT crazy?”
"Wait, wait, wait…." Hannah's jaw drops open and she pulls the long sleeves of her black dress up to cover her hands as if she's trying to ward off the cold, or like it simply helps her to think more clearly even at her indignant state, as she tries to understand what her best is saying to her. “You can't be serious with me, Fernilia… Are you telling me that you agreed to date a guy just because you're too afraid to say no to him?”
"Well, yes! Of course I did, Han! Did you hear the part where I said he's an Alpha!?"
“Oh, for the moon's sake…” Hannah squeezes the space between her eyes. “We're both going to talk to him tomorrow and sort this out. What Pack is he from?”
“I don't know… I think it's the Black Moon Pack!!! Do you believe that?! Anyway, I can't… You go!”
"What?!"
“Please Han!”
"No way! You're going with me, young lady, and you're going to tell him you don't want to date him and it was all a misunderstanding..."
Then a muffled sound interrupts the girls' discussion, it seems to come from the entrance or maybe that little staircase…
"What was this?" The dark haired girl stands up and looks around with the moonlight still brightening most of the room.
“Maybe it was him?” Fer feels paranoid.
“There is no aura of Alphas around here. I don't actually feel any aura…” Hannah says softly. “It could be a little aura like an omega or a gamma that for some reason I can't feel… Did you tell Luc we'd be here? Because maybe it's him…” She knew it wasn't, but it was her best guess.
"I didn't say anything to Luc, I didn't even find him."
“Okay, I’m going to look…” and she moves around the house.
“No, Hannah. Stay here." Fer asks scared. "I didn't actually tell anyone about this, if we die here, no one will even know..." The omega girl starts to despair...
"I'm sure it was just a small animal, maybe a mouse or something, let me check for a second..."
“No…”
Ignoring her friend's urges, Hannah searches the main entrance room carefully, but there's nothing new.
Then she moves to the stairwell chamber.
That's when she hears an unexpected sound again, this time a rumbling sound coming from the shelves and she turns towards it at the same time that she startles.
Hannah can't believe her eyes.
