What happened in court today wasn’t one of my proudest moments. It wasn’t a proud moment at all.
I was all for Rebecca paying for her crimes, but then these women had other plans. Rebecca specifically came to my room this morning to remind me that Evelyn had stolen from the company. She reminded me about the missing funds, and had cried her eyes out, saying I was getting lost in her spell again.
She asked me how I was even sure Toby was mine. She told me there was a reason she’d taken Toby. It was to do a DNA test.
And despite everything I knew about Rebecca, despite all the lies she’d told before, a small seed of doubt found its way into my head.
