Episode 1
Victoria’s pov
I stepped out of the limo, dragging the rest of my dress out with me. "Do you need help Miss. Volvok?" He asked, his eyes widening when he realized he made a mistake.
"No thank you," I said, pasting a sweet smile on my face. "And my name is Carson." The valet nodded, scurrying away and I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.
"Really wished you were here mom," I muttered out, letting out a depressed sigh. My phone buzzed and I opened my eyes, turning it on.
"Where the f**k are you? You're the Alpha's daughter you can't be late," the text read and I felt a chuckle crawl up my lips.
"Here goes nothing," I muttered while walking towards the pack hall. The workers pushed the doors open and I stepped in, ignoring the stares. I moved to the side, searching for Camila while I tried to stay as invisible as possible.
Although that seemed like a hard task with the dress that clung my body. It was a black armless dress that spread down past my waist. It was decorated with gold crystals, matching my earring and bracelets.
"Ria!!" A voice called and I turned to see Camila coming closer. My jaw dropped while taking in her dress. She wore a pink dinner dress with her red hair clipped to the sides with silver flower pins. "Omg you look so beautiful!" I yelled, hugging her. Even though I hate to admit it, I needed her. "You do too, the gold brings out your hair," she said, grazing her hand on my dress.
"Have you seen the new Alpha?" She asked, her ears wide for some tea. I rolled my eyes, looking away. "For the last time Camila, he's my brother and no I didn't see him. I doubt he's back yet," I said, trying to ignore how awkward calling him my brother was. He was never my brother, if anything he hated me.
"Well come on. Let's go get something to drink," Camilla held my hand, cringing as we walked past a couple making out.
We sat together and I sipped my drink, staring at the party going on in front of me. I had turned eighteen this year and I was finally able to attend the annual mating ball. For some reason I never wanted to. I took a long sip of my drink, dropping the glass down.
"You seem bored," a thick voice muttered and I turned to see a man. He was dressed in a suit, his blonde hair slicked to the side.
Great! Company.
"Not really. I just feel a little tired," I said with a smile, sitting up. "Are you sure? It seemed like you were hoping the floor was going to swallow you up,” he said and I chuckled at the joke, turning to him.
“I’m Alpha Jason of Crescent pack,” he muttered and my eyes widened. He was one of the most powerful and ruthless Alphas. How could I not have noticed?
“Oh Goddess! You never said so. I’m sorry if I’ve been rude,” I explained, trying to ignore how hard my heart was beating. He let out a laugh and I stared at him, confused.
“Don’t be scared, you weren’t rude. Besides, I don’t like people treating me like I’m different,” he explained and I smiled, taking a liking to him. He was the youngest Alpha in the Pack of America and he wasn’t power sick like the old ones.
Jason slowly lifted his hands and I studied his movements. He placed his hand on my neck stroking my hair and I glanced at the hand, feeling a little uneasy. I turned to find him leaning towards me, his eyes on my lips and I took a step back.
"What are you doing?" I questioned, folding my hands across my chest. For some reason I suddenly felt very chilly.
"I'm sorry, it's just that you're simply breathtaking," he complimented, his smile dropping when he realized he had overstepped a boundary.
"I'm so sorry. I guess I should go."
I nodded and he let out a defeated sigh, going back in. Staring at his retreating figure, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"It's alright," I told myself, taking a seat on one of the garden benches. My heart grew heavier no matter how I tried to ignore it. Images of my mother filled my head and I felt my eyes go blurry with tears.
"I miss you so much mom," I whispered, holding onto the pendant she had given me three years ago. I hated it then but now it was one of my most priced possessions.
I wiped away my tears, trying not to ruin my makeup and enjoyed the cool breeze alone. My phone buzzed and I let out a chuckle, reading the text.
I got up, about head back when a sweet scent hit me. It was a mixture of rain and mahogany. I took in a long whiff, my tummy growing warm.
"Mate!" A voice growled and I froze, turning.
