The accident and the return of the ghost

CHAPTER 2: THE ANNOYING GHOST WHO REFUSES TO LEAVE I jumped from my bed like someone who just saw a snake in broad daylight! I looked around my small room in utter fear. "David? Is that you? Are you truly back?" I stammered, clutching my plate of Eba tight. Suddenly, the air grew cold, and right before my eyes, a faint Transparent David floated down from the ceiling. He looked exactly like my late boyfriend — same big head, same potbelly, but now... see-through like pure water. "Who else will it be? Your village people?!" He floated closer and crossed his ghostly arms. "Ada, do you know how boring Heaven is? No Egusi soup, no pure water, and worst of all... NO GROUNDNUT! I told God plainly: 'Lord, I cannot rest until I punish this woman for killing me before my time!'" I folded my arms too (even though I was trembling). "David, I did not kill you! It was an accident! And besides, are ghosts supposed to be this talkative?" "Don't give me attitude!" He floated straight through my wardrobe and reappeared beside my mirror. "From today, I am your Permanent Roommate. You killed my life... so I will disturb yours until you beg for mercy!" And true to his words... My trouble began immediately: ✅ While I bathed: He sang loud off-key love songs while peeping through the curtain. "Ada! You still get big nyash o... even in death I still admire God's work!" ✅ While I prayed: He blew cold wind on my face and mimicked me: "Oh Lord forgive me for killing my hungry boyfriend... Amen!" ✅ While I tried to sleep: He sat heavily on my chest (making me feel like a heavy stone was on me) and whispered: "Ada, tell me... did you plan the accident because I refused to buy you Data?" One week passed, and I was already going mad! I could not eat in peace, sleep in peace or even gossip with my friend. David was Everywhere and Nowhere at the same time. One evening, I sat down and shouted: "DAVID! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? JUST GO BACK TO HEAVEN OR HELL AND LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" He floated right in front of my face, grinned mischievously and said: *"Simple my love... *Cook me a big pot of Egusi Soup with Goat Meat AND Beg me properly. Then... AND ONLY THEN... I might consider being a 'Good Ghost'." I stared at him in disbelief. Even in death, this man is still very greedy!
