Chapter 12

Leas POV.

I take a step closer to Nathan, and I can see the inner fight he has with his wolf. His eyes turns golden and I know his wolf is in control now.

"Hello wolf." I say with a smirk. Blade is howling in my head, she wants to come out and say hello. His body relaxes and he takes my hand. He guides me through the garden to a little pond with a white wooden bench. He sits down and I sit next to him. He looks over the still water, I study his face. His full lips making it hard for me not to kiss them.

Just kiss him already!

No.

Orr, you're a pain in my ass.

She sneaks back into my mind again.

"Can you speak?" I ask when he still hasn't said a word. He looks at me with those golden eyes and smiles.

"I have wanted to meet you since I saw you for the first time." His voice is deep and rough, making my core tense with anticipation.

"You just met me yesterday." I chuckle. He shakes his head and now I'm confused. I give him a strange look and he laughs.

"Confused, little one?" He chuckles and I'm totally blank.

"Yeah, you can say that! What do you mean? We haven't met before, have we?" I ask wondering. Blade is awfully quiet in my mind. I see him blink and Nathan is back with his hazel eyes. He looks at me with a smile.

"I'm sorry about that." He rises from the bench and starts walking away. I run after him, grabbing his wrist.

"Don't do that. Tell me, have we met before?" He looks away over the pond. His body is tense again.

"Nathan please, just tell me." He looks at me and brush his thumb over my lower lip. He sparks from his touch, makes me hot inside. I close my eyes and step closer to him. He lowers his head to my ear, making me shiver when his lips touch it.

"I'm sorry Lea, but I don't know. He won't tell me, so I'm just as confused as you." He whispers to me. He pulls away with a stern look on his face.

"We better get back." He turns around and walks back to the house. I stand still until he's gone.

What the hell was that?! And why won't his wolf tell him?

I don't know.

And like that, she retreats to the back of my mind. I can sense her mood, she's not confused like me, it's like she's relieved. I walk back to the house and into the grand hall. Nathan is standing next to Alpha Kilian and his Luna. Cain is standing next to one of the servants, he's probably taking her to his room. And Damon is nowhere to be seen. I walk up to the bar and gets a whiskey.

"You drink the hard stuff, huh?" Damons says behind me. He walks up to my side and orders a whiskey too. He looks at me with his blue eyes and his tainted hair. I can hear his thoughts. God, she's beautiful, it's a shame she belongs to Nathan. She would be the perfect mate.

"Have you found your mate yet, Damon?" I ask him with a smile, taking him off guard.

"No, not yet." He coughs, shifting nervously on his feet.

"Sorry about that. Did you train?" I look him in his eyes seeing relief. Guess it's a sore subject.

"It's okay. I got to train a lot and, on my own, you bailed me for the boring meeting, remember?." He huffs, making me giggle. He gives me a warm smile and takes a sip of his whiskey. He begins to cough and I burst out in laughter.

"Can't handle the hard stuff, huh?" I laugh while imitating his voice. He shoves me off the bar stool and laughs.

"I'm sorry that I bailed you. I promise I will show up tomorrow and beat your sorry ass." I smirk. Nathan walks over with a sly grin.

"Damon won't be fighting you tomorrow, I will." He says with golden eyes and a smirk. I look at him and give him my most innocent smile and bashes my eyelashes at him.

"Be careful, the sexy kitten might hurt you." He steps closer to me, I could feel his breath on my face, deliciously minty.

"I will like to see the kitten try." He winks and walks away. Damon follows behind, also giving me a wink. I shake my head. I see Cain is gone and so is the servant, so I decide to call it a night. I walk to the stairs when I hear the most nauseous voice behind me.

"Where do you think you're going, little kitten? You need to pay for what you did to my nose." I turn around and see Alpha Judas' Beta standing in the doorway to the hall. He walks over to me with fury written all over his face.

"Walk away, Beta. I don't want to fight you." I say with a calm voice. He snarls at me, awakening Blade from her beauty sleep. I feel her press through my mind, eager to take over.

You can't shift in here. I haven't taken the elixir yet.

She doesn't answer me, I can feel her anger radiate through me. I mind link Cain but he blocks me out, probably banging the servant.

He stops right in front of me, forcing me to look up in order to see his face. His eyes is pitch black and he's pissed. I know I can take him, I just don't feel like shifting right here with all these people. I decide to do the last thing I want. I mind link Nathan and he lets me through.

Hey, little kitten.

Nathan I don't have time for that, your cousin's Beta is pissed at me, and I need your help.

On my way.

He cuts of the link and I see a smirk on the Betas face.

"Mind linking your Alpha? He's not here and he will not make it in time to save you." He grabs my throat and pushes me up the cold wall. He moves closer to me, his mouth right in front of my lips, when I hear a vicious roar run through the house. Nathan is standing at the top of the staircase, his eyes never leaving mine. His claws and canines is out and is close to shifting. Alpha Judas comes running out of the grand hall and into the foyer. He stops when he sees his Beta pinning me up against the wall.

"Let her go. Now!!" He snarls at his Beta. The Beta obeys him immediately and I fall to the ground. He turns his body around and kneels before his Alpha. Alpha Judas is furious and he hits his Beta in the face, his claws scratch his cheek. Blood is dripping down his face onto his suit. Wounds cost by Alphas take longer to heal. Alpha Judas turns on his heels and walks away.

Nathan is by my side in a second, looking over my body for injuries. He takes my face in his hands and look deeply into my eyes.

"Are you okay?" He whispers. I nod and he helps me up the floor. He keeps looking in my eyes, I can see his concern.

"Can you do me a favor?" I ask him and he nods.

"Pair me with him tomorrow at practice, I will like to kick his butt." He laughs and we go up the stairs. We reach my floor and we stand outside my door. I can feel his mind spinning and I'm confused too, I want to invite him in but I think it would be a mistake. He gives me a nod and turn around, ready to leave when I grab his wrist.

"Are you telling me the truth about your wolf? I don't understand why he won't tell you." I try to force my way into his mind but it's blocking me. I have never met anyone who could do that. Maybe the Moon Goddess has something to do with this.

"Yes, he will tell me when it's time. Apparently, when is a secret too." He sighs and I let go of his wrist.

"Goodnight Nathan." I say looking into his hazel eyes.

"Goodnight Lea." He turns around and walks down the corridor. He has a fine ass. I go into my bedroom and takes off my clothes. I don't even have energy for a bath, so I just go to bed instead. Blade is stirring in my mind, I wonder if there's going to be another crossover tonight.

I fall asleep with ease and dreams surround my mind. I dream about my parents and their deaths. I see my father standing in the clearing, surrounded by darkness. His wolf was silver, the biggest I have seen. He loved me with all his heart, me and my brothers. Kolan steps out of the shadows, he was my father's friend, a dark witch who switched sides. He betrayed my parents and they paid with their lives. He let an Alpha pack inside our borders, making the kill too easy. Brody, the true Alpha in the Alpha pack, steps out next to Kolan. His eyes is red like blood, and he runs towards my father. My father prepared himself for the impact, but he was thrown up in the air by Kolan. He hits the ground and Brody is beside him in a second. He bares his teeth going to his throat..

I wake up panting, my body is covered in a thin layer of sweat. I look around and see the sun through the window, I look at my phone, it's 8 am. I look up in the ceiling.

A whole night without a crossover, Blade. That's new.

Yeah, it's rare. Maybe it's something to do with the King?

Why do you think that?

I don't know, just thinking out loud.

I go out of bed and head for the bathroom. I'm naked and in a desperate need for a bath. I close the door and a chill run down my spine. I turn around and see a young man standing beside the bathtub. He looks at me with blood red eyes, his heart is gone, ripped out of his body.

This one is going to hurt

I might have to mind link Nathan and tell him I'm gonna be late for training.

I mind link Nathan and he lets me through.

Have a visitor, I will be there in a couple of hours.

I cut him off and look at the man again.

"Hello Kyle, are you ready?" I greet him with a calm voice. He looks nervous.

"Will it hurt?" He asks me with a shaken tone. I shake my head.

"No, the moment you touch me, it will all be over and peaceful for you. I promise." I smile and he smiles back. He walks up to me and place a hand on my cheek. Pain takes over my body, I feel my heart being ripped out of my chest and then nothing.
