Humans have finally made contact with extraterrestrial life, but at what cost? After what seemed like an amazing opportunity and the next step for our evolution we left our planet earth with the promise of coming back when resources had restored completely, but as soon as we got to planet Hoenneg our people were forced to work and leave their "human culture" behind, now generations have gone by and our home has been forgotten, or so our enslavers thought. Meera is an orphan, taken from her parents at an early age for experiments, now in her early adulthood she seeks to find her family and ends up discovering an ancient secret that would lead her to the legendary path of the hundred years journey. What does it all mean? Why did she survive the experiments and what did it cost? Keep reading to find out.

Prologue
Planet Earth, Milky Way, 2130 earthling years       The sound of the leaves flickering before falling to the ground, the sensation of the breeze brushing my skin and levitating my hair, the ticklish sensation of the grass under my feet, would any of these feel different over there? Would it feel like home? Something tells me it won't, but it's temporary, the feeling of coming back home is the only thing reassuring me about our departure to this new planet. Borig-on, from what I'm told it's more like boring-on, they told us we were lucky to get the tickets to the last cruiser leaving earth, I didn't get a say on the matter, all I heard when I asked if my family would reconsider this was "you're only 16, you know nothing of the real world, always with your head in the clouds", so here I am enjoying the last moments while I ca..  - ALICE WHERE ARE YOU? WE’RE LEAVING IN 10 MINUTES GET YOUR THINGS DOWNSTAIRS So much for a peaceful goodbye right?   - I’M COMING, MOM    On my way inside the house I got one last look at our backyard. The grass was like a green carpet covering its whole dimension, it isn't big but it feels mine, our red barbecue now covered and under the beautiful oak tree that my great grandparents planted, when I looked a little further I could see what was left of the woods my parents used to tell me stories about, the pink tree is what always got me, right in the middle of some brown and dry trees, there it was, as healthy and colorful as ever. I left a time capsule buried under the oak tree, for when we come back I’ll be able to remember the details of our lives before leaving. I’m sure the others who left before me also left their own time capsules or anything of the sort which makes it even more exciting, we might form a club to open them together. Finally I got to the door and took one last look around. I still cannot believe we’re leaving all of this behind, people say change is good but I’m not so sure about this anymore.  - Did you get everything they asked ?  - Yes, mother - Great! Now remember, we take no technology with us, we will use whatever device they provide us.  - Don't you think that's a little weird? - I asked  - They do this because our technology won't work there, so it will only be a huge pile of waste on their planet, we don't want to upset our hosts with nonsense.   I don't know about that, it seems sketchy doesn't it? But I guess it makes sense. Still not liking this but there's nothing I can do about it.   After those blessed 10 minutes, we're all in the car, my mother, father, brother and I with our new clothes - provided by our hosts, the boregs - I admit they feel and look nice, the jacket is long and brown, its texture seems like leather but stretchier, the shirt is a deep red, made of cotton, very terrestrial,  the pants are made with the same material of the jacket, also brown and they have an opening on the knees which are surrounded by golden spikes made of ithorium - a metal very common in Borig-on - and deep brown combat boots.   After a 15 minutes drive we finally got to the station. I hopped off the car and almost bumped into a boreg, he looked at me showing no emotion of facial expression and said  - Welcome, we are very happy to have you here.    I've heard that they didn't express their feelings in a visual but rather in a... energetic way? It's complicated to explain, they emanate their feelings but their faces don't change, my parents told me about it beforehand but I didn't think it would be as weird and unique as it was, on the plus side it made me feel like a telepath so I quite liked it.  While I was trying to process everything that was happening my father broke the silence:  - Hello, we're very happy to be here. We've got our tickets, documents an...  - Don't worry, those are mere formalities - the bored said - please, join your kind on those lines and we shall leave in 1 or 2 hours from now.  And so we went, the lines were divided by gender and age, there weren't many girls under 18 so I was quickly inside. In there, I felt an immense sensation of calmness and a voice started describing me to some kind of recording device.  - Race: human; Gender: girl; s*x: Female; Earthly age: 16; Basic DNA: auburn hair, dark brown eye, normal stature for the race, healthy with low percentage of muscles; Current Role: none; New Role: to be decided at destination;  Recommendations: classified.   What do they mean by role and recommendation? I guess I'll find out when we arrive, I just want to get to my parents as soon as possible, I hate being in a place where I don't know anybody, specially with these people? What do I even call them? Ok, calmness coming, calmness coming.   While I freaked out the voiced finished getting me checked in, then a door opened on my right and I finally reunited with my family, after all that we still had to go through a kind of x-ray machine and answer a few rather personal questions and finally, after about 50 minutes we embarked in the cruise to our new home on a new planet. I took one last look as we ascended to the stratosphere and right there I got the feeling that I would not be back to earth again. I looked at my family, they were so happy, but I couldn't shake that feeling, so I took the two things they allowed us to bring, a journal and a pen, and I started mapping out our journey.
