CHAPTER 02

LARISSA. I felt a splash of cold water hit my body harshly and I shriveled up. Opening my eyes, I looked around and saw that I was in a dungeon with two other people. I really couldn't see them because of the lack of light. "Wake up, Virago," I heard a guard say behind a bar of iron before walking away. I watched as he walked away into the darkness. Quickly I moved towards the padlock and saw that I was locked inside. I took a pin from my head and tried to tweak the lock but it was to no avail. "You can't open it so give up." I turned my gaze towards the feminine voice. Straining my eyes into the dark, I saw the person that spoke. She looked really young. She was frail and her body was like a sack of bones. I couldn't see her face clearly so I had no idea what she looked like. But she sounded like she was on the verge of death. I ignored her and continued with what I was doing, but I wasn't getting anywhere with it. I tousled my hair in frustration and it hurts like hell. "Why did you keep irritating that guard, you were no match for him but you kept taunting him, why?" The feminine voice kept on pestering me with questions. "How did you know that?" "I heard the guards talk about you when you were thrown in here." I looked towards the direction of the voice, "Why did you think I was no match for him?" I simply asked. The frail girl whose name I was yet to know replied slowly, "Because you don't look like a fighter, you seem fragile. Besides, you're a woman." I chuckled softly. I hate when people underestimated my power because I was a female. "Fragile, that's a new word to describe me with. What is your name?" I asked. "Lia." I nodded my head in reply, but not like she could see me, "Do not think that because I am fragile and a lady, I can't overpower a palace guard. I'm confident I can take a hundred of them all at once." I heard her breathe in deeply, then everywhere was silent. It wasn't long after, four guards walked into my cell and held out a chain towards me, "That's not fair, four against one. Didn't Carlos tell you to be gentle with me." I said, mockingly. They came closer to me and tied my hands with the chain which hurt like s**t, since they were tied tightly against my wrist. They guided me out of the dark dungeons, and we came out to the bright sun. I closed my eyes so it could adjust to the bright light but darkness took over my sight once again. They had used a blindfold to cover my eyes, probably for me not to know the direction to wherever they were taking me to, which was a smart move on their side. It was good to know they didn't underestimate me too much. "Where are you taking me?" I asked. None of them gave a reply, but they just kept dragging me with them. I asked again but still didn't get any reply but I was still conscious of my surroundings. We finally came to a halt and I was thrown to the ground. The cover was taken off my eyes and my eyes adjusted to the light. I was in an empty chamber. I admit, the chamber was beautiful. With its beautiful bare stone walls, timbered ceiling, polished wooden floor and monumental fireplace which was decorated in a true medieval style with a king sized bed, hand carved furniture and authentic tapestries on all the walls. "What am I doing here?" I asked the four guards who were still breathing down my neck but they didn't respond. Just as I turned to face them, the giant door opened and in came the two people I hated and planned to kill. Alpha Alexander, a bastard, and a killer. He was a ruthless monster who killed for fun and created a display of the bodies like it was an artwork, and his w***e of a Luna, Riella, she was just a piece of cheap goods. I had seen them from afar, but never this close. They were the ones who had ordered the killing of my uncle for reasons I was yet to know. "So this was the little spit fire who killed three guards? The one Carlos beat to a pulp?" Alexander asked no one in particular as he sat down on the bed. One of the guards replied affirmatively, and pulled the chains on my hand. The more he kept pulling them, the chain sliced into my skin. It was at the moment I was thankful Lycans were resistant to silver because it could have been worse. "What's your name?" Riella asked. I stared at her, "I don't think it's any of your business, lady." I replied, snarkily. The Luna fumed with rage, "How dare you speak to me like that, you tramp." I laughed at her words, what she was saying wasn't hurting me any bit, it was the way she looked as she said it, "Oh wow, you called me a tramp. Well at least, I'm not a w***e who is greedy for power." Her face was bright red with anger, she looked mad as she stood up and hit me with her wretched hands. My cheeks were definitely not getting a rest with the amount of slaps I'd received in just a few hours' interval. "C'mon old woman, Carlos sure hits better than you." I said, while staring at her. One thing about me was that I couldn't control my mouth. It was a running tap that never stayed close in the face of injustice. She was raising her hands to hit me again, when Alexander spoke. Riella fumed, walking back to the bed. She sat down beside her Alpha. Alexander stood up, walking towards me as he sized me up. He crouched down to my level and held my face in his hands, moving closer to me, "You know, if you were just submissive and a little quiet, you would make the perfect w***e for me to f**k around with." Ew. "No. I wouldn't even glance at you twice." He smirked, adding, "As I was saying, I would have f****d you. Then after I am done with you, I will pass you around to my guards for each of them to have their way with you and dispose of you when you're not of any use." My skin slithered with disgust as he said those words and I wanted nothing more than to stick a dagger in between his forehead. "In your dreams, pervert." I spat on him. Alexander swiped his face with his hands before punching me on my nose repeatedly till blood spilled out. I attempted to bite his ear off when he was pushed off me.
