LARISSA.
I looked around me, and I saw a guy. He was undoubtedly a werewolf and I knew exactly who he was. He was my mate, the guy I'd met outside. I wondered what he was doing in the Alpha chambers.
And like a whiplash, it hit me. The uncanny resemblance between Alexander and him told me everything I needed to know. He was the son of Alexander and Riella. He had a more gentle Aura, unlike his parents that had their fist in my face. He looked nice and my assumptions were confirmed when he smiled at me, catching me unaware by helping me up and removing the chains from my hands. Relief flooded my whole body after those heavy chains dropped from my hands.
I had gotten the opportunity to study his looks earlier before but seeing him closely in the light of the room, I could undoubtedly say I was staring at the most beautiful man I'd ever seen, not like I had seen many.
The only wicked thing had to happen, the moon goddess decided to punish me by pairing me with their son. He was my mate and it was obvious he was aware of that also, and I knew damn well that he could recognize me from our earlier encounter. Perhaps the moon goddess made a mistake by appointing a Lycan to be the mate of a werewolf.
"What are you doing here, Oliver?" Alpha Alexander asked his son as he moved closer towards the both of us.
Oliver put me against his back, trying to protect me. I was amused by his behavior but didn't say anything about it. If I could get out of here alive, only then would I put my plan in motion. I stayed quietly behind his son's back, perhaps he was the escape route the moon goddess planned out for me. Maybe she was finally realizing that she'd ignored me enough. It was about time she started lending me a helping hand.
The guards tried to hold me but a look from Oliver made them stop. I smirked in triumph, I was starting to think of a new plan, which was going to involve my so-called mate.
"Father, please stop. You were hurting her." Oliver said, in a calm voice.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance, that was no way speaking to a strong headed Alpha. He wasn't going to listen to him, and I was right because Alpha Alexander laughed wickedly.
I heard the w***e of a Luna — Riella, speak, "Oliver, stop this nonsense and get out now. Your father is disciplining a tramp who doesn't know her place. Oliver, she insulted your mum!"
"Well, maybe it's because you deserved it, mother." He replied and I winced at the magnitude of his voice.
Alpha Alexander laughed loudly, while everyone kept quiet. Then he faced his son, "Give me one very good reason why you're protecting her, Oliver. You always look away whenever I am exerting my duties and now you are standing up for that girl." He said, calmly.
I hated the fact that I was hiding, more like he was hiding me behind him. I was bleeding from my nose, no thanks to that bastard of an Alpha, and I couldn't protect myself. I had been training for this moment, but I knew I couldn't win this war. I had to think strategically, but that was not going to be now. I had to leave this palace safely and I was going to do that with the help of my mate.
Alpha Alexander looked bored, "If you can't give a response, leave now."
Oliver shook his head in declination, "No father, I can't, because she is my mate and I have to protect her at all cost even if it means I disobey you."
"Mate?" I heard Riella say before laughing. She added, "Did you just say mate? Alexander, are you listening to your son? He has a mate and it's her."
Alpha Alexander didn't say anything but looked to be deep in thoughts, "Leave." He said, after a while. "Leave my chambers for now."
Riella looked at me smugly before facing her son, "Oliver dear, your father is talking to you."
"I was talking to you Riella and the guards, leave now!" Riella looked shocked at her husband's command but didn't dare question it, so she left, along with the guards.
"One crazy person out of the room." I muttered to myself.
I heard Oliver chuckle a bit which meant he heard me, and actually didn't argue about it. It was good to know he did not like his mother.
Alpha Alexander motioned towards his son to come forward, but he didn't. He stayed rooted, shielding me from his father.
"I won't hurt her if she doesn't say a word." Alpha Alexander said to Oliver.
I wanted to give a snarky reply but I didn't, I bit my tongue to avoid saying anything unnecessary. Besides, my broken nose was bleeding. I couldn't talk due to the pain. Oliver walked towards his father and they conversed with each other. I could hear what they were saying and I wasn't even a bit concerned about Oliver betraying me, because I was confident he wouldn't.
We had only met, but it was all over his face that he was completely infatuated with me, and it was something I could use to my advantage. The guards who stood in the room had earlier left with Luna Riella, so I could easily run away, but I knew it was going to be risky. I was in an endangered area so I had to tread carefully.
I had finally come to a decision, the moon goddess didn't make a mistake. She actually helped me push forward with my plan. After the father and son discussion was over, I was finally free to leave the room— with Oliver.
He followed me like a lost puppy looking for his master and I was creeped out. We walked in silence till we got to another part of the palace.
"Where are we?" I asked.
Oliver responded instantly, saying it was his own private quarter's. He was quick to add that if I did not like anything, I could change it to my taste. I nodded my head in response before going into his room, he was about to follow me in when I stopped him with my hands. "Please Oliver can I be alone, just for this night?"
He didn't seem pleased with my request but agreed nonetheless.
Before Oliver left, he handed me a handkerchief to clean the blood off my nose. Then, he said to me, "I'm happy to know that I have a mate and a beautiful one at that. If you do not mind, may I know the name of the beauty who stands before me?"
"Larissa." I simply replied.
Oliver nodded his head, "You know my name already so I don't have to say it— just know that if you need anything, let me know. Also don't worry about guards, I don't have any in my quarters. And I don't plan on rejecting you as my mate, Larissa."
That last piece of information was actually nice to know about, I could use him for as long as I wanted. Gracious heavens. I gave a fake yawn, indicating I was tired and he took the signal. I bidded him a goodnight before closing the door.
Today was almost a very big problem, but the moon goddess made a way for me to scale through, I just had to make use of my luck carefully.
