never alone

Mercy was walking home from school in her favorite winter boots he liked them because the lite up when she waled. her house wasn't far from her school and as she was 9 now she was aloud to walk home by herself. she looks around to see all the other children playing in the snow. she could hear her friend yell her name to come and join them but she couldn't today. her father wanted her home early they were going onto a trip to meet some of her fathers friends.he never spoke of his friends when she was around so she was super excited! "MERCY!' it was Thomas her best friend she waved at him as he came running up to her. " I'm sorry Thomas i cant come over today daddy is taking me to see some friends!" thomas looked hurt " but you are still coming to my birthday party right?" she completely forgot it was today! she opens her bags and looks for something but all she sees is her leftover lunch and a pocket knife she found in her basement. she hands him the pocket knife it looked shiny like silver and had a weird symbol on the handle. "i found this the other day! i want you to have it i don't think i will be able to make it today" she knew it hurt him to not go to his party but she was a big girl now and had responsibilities now. she looked at him and hugged him.  " I'm so sorry and i promise i will try to be back in time for your party tonight!" she lets go and runs all the way back to her house. As she is running home she sees a lot of police cars pass her and fire trucks. she wonders if there was a fire near by but she couldn't smell anything so she didn't think about it. as she got closer she could see they were at her house, she wondered why maybe there was a brake in she walked closer she saw they were caring something out. then she saw it blood was all over the snow she saw her mother surrounded by it all . "Mommy?" she couldn't stop looking around she ran to her mothers side only to be pulled away by police officers. "MOMMY ! LET ME GO TO MY MOMMY!" she screamed but no one listened she was crying so hard she couldn't see straight. then she saw her father.he looked beat up and was put in an ambulance.  She yelled for her father " DADDY HELP ME THEY WONT LET ME GO TO MOMMY!' she cried but he didn't respond to her cries.she started to kick and scream at the police officers until she got out of there grasp,and ran to her father. when she got to him in the ambulance they looked like they were hitting his chest. she yelled at them to leave her daddy alone he was already hurt but they kept going. until they stopped.and said he didn't make it. she looked at them and huged her father crying "daddy wake up please... mommy wont wake up either... daddy?" they pulled her away once more trying to calm her down. Mercy didnt know what to do her parents wouldnt wake up... and these strange men and women kept trying to ask her questions she couldn't answer. she was scared so she did what she only knew what to do...
