The Response

Royal Palace Capital, January 20, 1564, in the continental calendar.

After Thomas declares war against Sovereignty the people there can’t help but laugh at him.

“Who do you think he is? He is just a puny human.”

“They will meet their doom for declaring war on us.”

“When humans ask for the war then that will be their annihilation.”

“I can’t wait for the Queen to use her powerful arsenal.”`

No one seemed serious at this point. They are all mocking the man who spoke to them through Sovereignty’s broadcast. Some people left and others returned to their usual day as if nothing happened. However, the Sovereignty's Broadcast System lit up once more reflecting footage of desolate land. Who knows what that is?

The people gathered once more in the middle of the town’s square where their haughty expression turned grim.

Every time the images change one after another the more ruined the lands are. They can’t tell what that place is so there are still doubts lurking within them.

Now, the subtext appeared at the bottom of the screen showing the places where the desolated ruins are. It was the Demon Empire! The buildings are shown dilapidated by a massive earthquake based on their understanding but unbeknownst to them. It was the Project Zeus that lay waste upon them.

The people’s mood began to drown in fear once more but also there was a glint of happiness inside them. Why? Because the Demon Empire was no more and their dream of unifying the world is in their hand’s reach.

But what they do not know is that Humanity is the one who set this Demon Empire into this state.

It was unexpected but the Humanity is claiming that they are the ones who destroyed the Demon Empire through the text below the screen.

Meanwhile, inside the Royal Capital, the Queen was summoned in the war council rooms where top brass in the military and the Grandmaster are in one place. They showed her the footage of the Demon Empire and the declaration of war upon them.

But the question that they are still puzzled about is how did they transmit this video to their broadcasting system?

It’s a mystery for them but they reach a sudden conclusion that the United States of Harthom is the one responsible for this network intrusion.

But how they do it is still a mystery.

The Queen didn’t address the issue immediately but rather called her daughter among the council…

Looking around, Eletear is nowhere to be seen. And then she remembered that she sent her on a mission to gather information.

“Those humans are asking for it, Your Majesty,” One man said, “They are going down to our might.”

“Where did the humans get their confidence?”

“Maybe through their modern technology?

“Still, there has no magic and in terms of individual power, we are the one on top. Now that the Demon Empire is gone we should continue on our great conquest.”

“Don’t be stupid. Do you think that the Demon Empire will go down like that easily? Maybe the footage is fabricated just to scare us you know?”

“It could be.”

While the councils are exchanging information the Grandmaster is silent and is trying to ascertain what's happening suddenly? Why did they declare war?

“Mother!”

There was a loud bang on the door and one girl entered the war room council in his dirty white dress filled with dirt and blood. Just by seeing it made everyone worried and immediately jumped to their seats to ascertain what happened to her.

The first one to approach her is the Queen! Her mother touched her here and there to find the bleeding and injured body. But the moment she touched her, the Princess cried immediately to the excruciating pain.

Now that the adrenaline has worn off. She can now feel the stress in her body by blocking all the powerful ordnance fired upon her by the A-10, AC-130, and the troop's weapons.

There was a female behind her, it was a Siren that she summoned. It was first seen that the Princess's arms are wrapped around her neck supporting her. There is only a hint of worries about the Princess's condition?

“Who did this to you? And why are you here so suddenly? I thought you were gathering information on the United States? And where is Mary?”

There are only two of them and Mary was missing. The Princess gathered her strength to reply but their faces turned grim once more after assuming that something bad happened to her.

The most concerned about this are her fellow Grandmaster who looked pale after the Queen’s barrage question.

“I’m sorry mother but Mary is killed in action, we barely manage to escape,...” The princess is having trouble speaking due to her ragged breath and excruciating pain in her body, “The humanity’s weapon cannot...be underestimated...they almost killed us...Mother! They attacked us the moment we entered their country!”

She told a lie.

Her mother became furious after hearing her words. She returned to her seat, completely infuriated by this news. The humans attacked us? They will pay! She thought and looked at her council and the grandmaster with a serious expression.

“Humanity is asking for war, then let’s give them what they want. We will teach those inferior fools that Sovereignty shouldn’t be f****d with! Grandmasters, I hereby order you to lay waste upon them and use all your might to make a disaster befall to them!”

“Yes, your majesty!”

“Councils! How many troops can be deployed?”

“We can deploy one million troops in an instant, your majesty. Among them can use powerful artillery magic.”

“Good, now the last thing is we give them a message as well. Connect me to the Sovereignty’s Broadcasting System, since they hacked our system, I’m sure that they will be able to see our message.”

And the council began to hustle and carried out her orders. The Grandmasters left the war room council and went to their quarters to get their equipment, preparing themselves for war.

They should not be taken lightly since they defeated one of their greatest grandmasters in Sovereignty.

The Princess is taken to the royal infirmary to heal her wounded body and the generals begin strategizing their mobilization.

And lastly, the Queen of Sovereignty is now connected to the broadcasting system enabling her to speak to her constituents and all around the country.

Meanwhile, inside the White House Command Ops, White House, Washington D.C, United States of Harthom.

The president who is still being consulted by the Generals turned his attention to the man who called him suddenly saying “Sir, we got a live broadcast in the Sovereignty”

“Okay put them through.” The president ordered and everyone turned their attention to the large flat screen mounted on the wall.

Now, the images have been shown and they can see that the Queen is one hell of beauty like her daughter. But, unfortunately, they will be fired upon by United States' greatest artillery and arsenals.

They’ve lost their chance the moment the Sovereignty attacked them and vice versa. The United States has lost the chance of being diplomatic after they declared war on them.

“Listen to me, all my people in Sovereignty. Today we are challenged by a visitor from another world to war! They dared to scare us by fabricating footage of the destruction of the Demon Empire. Those humans cannot be forgiven of their grave sin. They thought that their modern technology could defeat us but they didn't know our true power. The true power of this world is blessed upon us. Today one of our grandmasters has fallen and been killed by those humans and I have no choice but to respond to their war. The war between the United States of Harthom and the Empire of Demons is inevitable. So people, rest assured that this is the war that we will win, and unifying the continent is one step closer to our goal. United States of Harthom...no Humanity! The Sovereignty declares war against the Humanity in this world. Know that we will show no mercy against your kind. We will teach you a lesson that you won’t be having a second chance to fix it.”

After hearing her declaration, the live feed was cut off. Now, the war between the Sovereignty and the United States of Harthom now exists and the generals began to hustle even more to their military mobilization plans.

“Are the bombers in the area?” The President asked the generals.

“They are fifty mikes out, Mr. President.” One of the generals answered firmly.

“Good,”

Thomas gave a delighted smile.

Meanwhile, in the Hawaiian Naval Base, countless construction machinery can be seen, corpses inside the body bag, and medical personnel in the area. They all concentrated on the dilapidated Kremlin Palace that had once stood there. The Grandmaster of the wind arts slowly opened her eyes and saw a black ceiling. She was woken up by a banging noise repeatedly and she knows that it was coming on top.

“Sir she’s awake.” One soldier said but was muffled to Mary.

“Is she the one who used those swords and blocked all the bullets? I thought you can only see them in movies but now…”

She felt something binding her arms. She tried escaping it through her might but it was no use. Maybe because her energy is exhausted. She tried again but it was no use.

The soldiers didn’t mind at all. After all the cuffs that are incapacitated, she is one of the strongest cuffs ever existed. It will not be broken easily by force.

Then the UH-60 Blackhawk landed on the rooftop of the hospital located in the Hawaiian Naval Base.

She was put into the stretcher and once more she was heavily guarded by the soldiers there with an order to shoot once she moved in a hostile manner.

Entering the hospital, the bright lights of the hospital hallway entered her eyes, she squinted at the bright light entering her pupils while being pushed in the stretcher.

Where am I? That’s the first thing she asked herself but she is also puzzled about the location, after all this was the first time seeing a bright room that was not powered by torches and magic.

And then she was placed in one room where needles were piercing her skin in the arm and a white-coated man surrounded her.

“So, this is the woman who has extraordinary strength huh?” The man in the white coat asked the soldiers.

“Yes, and she’s the pain in the ass on our troops. Who knows if there are still more of them in their home country since the United States has already declared war.”

“That’s good to know.” The man in the white coat said.

Although they are speaking close to her, she can’t still comprehend their language. It was completely different from the human tongue before so trying to guess what they were talking about is a hard feat.
